Following on from the last thread!

OP posts:
unique1986 · 26/11/2020 09:18

The other day Giovanna said let's pretend we are in the Ivy while talking to Victoria.
You could say that's a strange place to mention as to most people it would be very rare to go to The Ivy or not at all.

unique1986 · 26/11/2020 09:20

Ps I cant imagine Tess and Vernon plucking and gutting a Pheasant.
They might have goose sometimes for Xmas as apparently that's more posh... again goose never been eaten by me.

ILoveYou3000 · 26/11/2020 09:32

Just catching up on last night and genuinely feel like I'm missing something with the Shane-hate. He was really supportive and encouraging with Jess in the trial and seemed quite proud of her.

Standrewsschool · 26/11/2020 09:39

I thought Vernon meant the pheasant to be a non road-kill type of food also. Ie. Something people can actually buy in shops.

What’s next on the menu, I wonder. They must be running out of native British unusual meat. Welsh dragon?!

awaynboilyurheid · 26/11/2020 09:42

Pheasant is eaten by my Aunt and Uncle who live in the Scottish countryside , there not millionaires by any means , I’ve had it as pheasant soup when I’ve visited it’s a bit strong I’m not fond of it but they all enjoyed it last night.
I did think the ladies did well on their trial last night was it just me that thought the trial in the spa of pouring cockroaches was really overdone? Seemed like they were pouring more and more for effect! Then the snake to top it off!
Also why did Beverly give the spa to Vernon? I couldn’t see why he deserved it or Russell..
Russel going on about his birthday and missing his girlfriend as she always makes a big fuss of it made think he’s probably very spoiled and a bit of a man child.

the80sweregreat · 26/11/2020 10:02

I looked up some pheasant and you can it order online! Who knew? Dh has tasted it before but I haven't ( or goose) I've seen goose for sale in a few supermarkets at Christmas time but not pheasant.

It did look nice though. Well cooked.

I'm sure that Vernon and Tess have a big eating / food budget and are never seen in Lidl or Asda doing the ' big shop'!

covetingthepreciousthings · 26/11/2020 10:06

Russel going on about his birthday and missing his girlfriend as she always makes a big fuss of it made think he’s probably very spoiled and a bit of a man child.

Am I right in thinking he was the one who left his wife (and children?) for a younger woman?
I was surprised how much he mentioned his birthday.

covetingthepreciousthings · 26/11/2020 10:09

He did seem smug the other night in the trial when he had it pretty easy, but to be fair I agree that he was supportive and encouraging last night with Jess. That was such a rank task they had, they did very well to drink them all.

the80sweregreat · 26/11/2020 10:10

Russell split from his wife and run off with a another woman. Not sure if it was after his operation or not.
His has a lovely voice but I've never been keen on him : he seems a bit spoilt and a bit of a diva but trying to be ' one of the people' type.

lynsey91 · 26/11/2020 10:45

Me and DH had pheasant once and both thought it was horrible.

I'd like to know what Bev is eating. She is meant to be vegan so couldn't have any of the meats or fish. Also some of the treats have not been vegan

Fizbosshoes · 26/11/2020 10:49

I havent seen what Bev eats for the main meals although they mentioned tofu. She had a jammy dodger that was vegan and when they got bread and butter I think she just had the bread.
I dont know if you get vegan scotch eggs but I dont even know if she ate one.

TokyoSushi · 26/11/2020 10:49

I still think that Shane is the most likely winner by some way. I think the final 4 will be some combo of Shane, Vernon, Jordan, Gi, Victoria & Bev.

I'm going to go with Shane, Vernon, Jordan, Gi

Anybody else have a final 4 prediction?

Fizbosshoes · 26/11/2020 10:53

We had goose at christmas once. I thought it was really greasy , I wouldnt choose it again.
I think I've seen pheasant in a posh butchers near where we used to live. I'd never been in there but they used to have game in the window.
I wonder if theyll have venison?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 26/11/2020 10:55

My final 4 - Jordan, Gi, Bev and Vernon

Quaagars · 26/11/2020 10:59

Also some of the treats have not been vegan

Jammy Dodgers are now usually vegan so they'll be OK - can't remember what else they had as treats though!

Quaagars · 26/11/2020 11:00

Forgot to add Dec said on Twitter when they had scotch eggs she had a vegan one and that checks out too as you can get vegan scotch eggs.

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 26/11/2020 11:03

Has anyone else spotted AJ's tattoo on his arm?
Why would anyone have their own name tattooed on them? Confused

Standrewsschool · 26/11/2020 12:11

My final four - Shane, Vernon, Bev (due to Corrie vote), Jordan

Before the show started, I would have predicted Shane, Mo, Bev - not sure no.4

AppleKatie · 26/11/2020 12:23

So who’s first out? holly getting a bit more screen time last night and tonight might save her?

I think Russel is in danger.

Standrewsschool · 26/11/2020 12:42

Ruthie. I think Russell will have a bigger fan base.

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 26/11/2020 12:47

In case he forgets. Grin
the80sweregreat · 26/11/2020 12:53

So funny about the tattoo!!
I haven't noticed it on his arm.

unique1986 · 26/11/2020 13:17

I cant be the only one bored with all the trials this year?
Last nights was funny but the best of a bad bunch.

Standrewsschool · 26/11/2020 13:30

The trials are quite safe and tame, and basically the same trial in a different environment. Admittedly, they probably didn’t have that long to plan anything, but I’m sure there’s a river nearby they could paddle down, or another rock face to climb. I remember one when they had to pull themselves over a tightrope/rope bridge, up high. It was physically demanding and terrifying. This year they’ve just been uncomfortable,

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 26/11/2020 13:56

@the80sweregreat

So funny about the tattoo!! I haven't noticed it on his arm.
It was during the castle coin challenge with Jess, moving the barrels. I've just found it on YouTube and taken a screen shot but it's not very clear
