Has anyone else watched? I find it very scary. Last episode tonight about how Trump won over evangelical Christians.

Yes I'm watching it too. It's extremely scary🙈 especially when you see it done on a timeline basis. It's really interesting to hear the views of those that were in office when he came in and obviously now after they've been fired. It is exactly like one of them said, he's treating it like the apprentice 😳 looking forward to last episode this evening

FatimaMunchy · 29/10/2020 14:05

Yes, he really is a showman. I couldn't believe how rude he was to the press.

I watched it all on iplayer and thought it was so well done. Even though they tried to be even handed, it was a completely damning documentary. How on earth anyone could watch it and say the man is fit to look after a goldfish, never mind have the codes to the football, are beyond me.

FatimaMunchy · 29/10/2020 16:53

That really is the frightening part. I don't think many of his staff feel happy at the thought either.
8 am fascinated by the way Evangelical Christians support him. I think tonight's programme discusses that. It seems completely at odds with his behaviour.

I’ve been watching as well. I honestly can’t believe that any thinking person could have voted for him, then and now, he is a vile person; the way he talked about the disabled man, black people and women, how many times has he been bankrupt? how on earth did he not make a profit from casinos?
Not paying his taxes, his pals Putin and rocket boy, his nepotism and his horrible grown up children. ( I do feel sorry for his youngest son.)

If you want a laugh to counter all the bullshit, I recommend Randy Rainbow on YouTube, he writes clever, funny, biting lyrics to show tunes and pop songs about Trump , Pence etc. Very talented and
a tonic to the madness.

FatimaMunchy · 30/10/2020 06:22

The way he has won over evangelical Christians is frightening. How they can call such a horrible man 'God's chosen one' is beyond me. I am all for forgiving people but he is totally unrepentant.
He has got away with so much that I fear a second term is inevitable.

Let’s just hope that young new voters can put that vile man out on his arse with a embarrassing defeat and jail for his treason.

FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 30/10/2020 14:13

I haven’t seen this so I will try and find it on iplayer hopefully, thanks OP for starting this thread.

I can’t understand why the evangelical Christians have been hoodwinked into believing he is a God fearing man. I don’t recall religion being part of his life before politics but I could be wrong.
As for forgiving him, he is far beyond forgiveness in my mind. He has said and done so many vile things, stoked up hatred of every kind and has been effectively complicit in the deaths of 227,000 American people. I sincerely hope he doesn’t win.

Mutunus · 30/10/2020 14:34

I've watched it and not sure why, I ended up feeling sorry for Sean Spicer.

FatimaMunchy · 30/10/2020 16:18

I ended up strongly disliking Rudi Giuliani. Never given him a thought before.

OP posts:
FingersCrossedForAllOfUs · 30/10/2020 18:40

I agree about Giuliani, I can see why he and Trump have been friends for so long. They are both morally bankrupt and must have so much in common to talk about. I also dislike Steve Bannon intensely.
I’m on episode 2 now of the series and I’m finding that I have forgotten so many of Trumps misdeeds because everyday something new happens that eclipses the last thing. My brain can only hold onto so much of his dire presidency.

PhoebeSnow · 30/10/2020 18:46

I wonder if people in the US can watch this on BBC America...?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 31/10/2020 00:29

@FatimaMunchy

I ended up strongly disliking Rudi Giuliani. Never given him a thought before.
My DM was aghast asking "wtf has happened to Rudi?"
Mutunus · 31/10/2020 01:12

It wouldn't surprise me to find Giuliani as the "brains" behind Trump's actions. He seems to have been a bit of a schemer all through his career.
He actually started out as a Democrat then gradually moved to the dark side.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 31/10/2020 02:35

I have watched a couple of episodes.

I find trump fascinating but very very scary. I can't get my head around why people voted for him. That man needs to be in prison.

Apparently if he loses he is moving to my neck of the woods in North East Scotland. Maybe I do want him to win after allHmm

FatimaMunchy · 31/10/2020 06:09

Noo. I wouldn't be keen on that either.

OP posts:
DrDavidBanner · 01/11/2020 10:43

It was really very scary how divided the country has become and how he has manipulated that.

Agree about Rudi Guliani, he comes across as so smug, like he knows what is said about him is true but hes got away with it so f you!
I can't believe they have Steve Bannon on the show, I thought he was under investigation for fraud related to the Build a Wall fund. despicable man.

FatimaMunchy · 01/11/2020 11:54

America was a lot greater before Trump. His policies have been isolationist. Remember when America took a lead in a crisis? Not any more.

OP posts:
SomeoneTellBorisHeHasDandruff · 01/11/2020 13:02

That’s because it’s America First with Trump and basically fuck everybody else unless it benefits America in some way.
A man who thinks injecting bleach is worth a try in treating Covid isn’t really likely to have a grasp on the nuances of foreign policy.

FatimaMunchy · 01/11/2020 13:06

I was embarrassed for him quite a few times. 😕
