The four-part murder mystery, written by Neil Cross (Luther, Spooks) and inspired by his novel Burial, follows a man attempting to escape the (potentially literal) ghosts of his past. Nathan is a well-meaning man who's spent years trying to atone for a terrible secret from his past, involving the disappearance of his wife's sister, Elsie (Simone Ashley).

However, a decade into his new marriage with wife Holly (Amrita Acharia) and Nathan is visited by Bob, a figure from his old life who is somehow connected with Elsie's disappearance.

Bob imparts shocking news to Nathan, resulting in "a series of catastrophic decisions which cleverly drive a tense and compelling narrative of psychological suspense, dread, love and possible redemption."

Looks good :) and like a drama on each night as no binging 😂😂

Watching - it jumps from time frame to time frame .
It's not edge of your seat stuff but early days ?

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 26/10/2020 22:01

Well it had better liven up tomorrow night because quite frankly nothing bloody happened. Hmm

JamminDoughnuts · 26/10/2020 22:04

I do like Russell tovey, seems good to me

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/10/2020 22:24

Will watch rest later

Started watching it but had to switch over as couldn’t cope with the darkness of the filming.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 27/10/2020 08:09

I gave up after Tovey's awkward pauses and constant staring. If you came home to find 'Bob' in the house you'd say who the fuck was that weirdo .

Also, no way would a female estate event have gone to meet a client alone after his dodgy sounding phone call (with dramatic pauses).

Did it improve?!

JamminDoughnuts · 27/10/2020 08:26

yes it was spooky

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2020 14:15

I didn’t think it was spooky

Blondes is hardcore !!

I enjoyed it

So is she alive

And like I know what you did last summer

Or he killed her

Or he thinks he did

OP posts:
JamminDoughnuts · 27/10/2020 18:25

i dont think he killed her,
he seems a nice man Smile

JamminDoughnuts · 27/10/2020 18:26

it is just the mad I can hear dead people geezer with the pink dressing gown

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2020 18:56

But then why get with her sister and marry her

Trying to find out what happened

If not body she must be alive

And had memory loss

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2020 19:01

I was watching last night and about 15 minutes in thought, I wonder when Bertie Carvel will appear, it then dawned on me that HE was Bob! Unrecognizable from his Dr. Foster role. It's the second time he's fooled me as I also didn't realise it was him when I watched the Agatha Christie drama The Pale Horse earlier this year😀

MrsBooks · 27/10/2020 20:30

I've started and although it didn't grip me I'll have to watch it to get closure. From the snippet at the end I'm thinking she OD'd maybe, and the 2 men panicked and buried her.
My main bugbear with the plot so far is that if Elise is really haunting them, better to allow her body to be discovered and identified so her family can give her a proper funeral and have some closure. Likelihood of them tying those 2 to her 10 years later is slim to none, I'd say. How do they think moving her now only to presumably dispose of her remains somewhere else is going to help stop her haunting them??!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2020 21:19

I think I’m the only one who is finding it gripping

Tho not scary

JamminDoughnuts · 27/10/2020 21:30

I wish he didn't lie

Pemba · 28/10/2020 00:17

So the 'grave' had no body or skeleton in it? Twas hard to see properly.

And what was all that about Elise being heard outside her exes house, sounding upset, after Nathan returned home from the party? (thus putting Nathan in the clear apparently)? And if she was alive why did she never return to her family?

Also, why did the policewoman tell Nathan they'd been tracking his car? Why would they have done that, as at that stage wouldn't he have been just a random party guest for all they knew?

Confused, but enjoying it so far. I'm probably being thick.

JamminDoughnuts · 28/10/2020 06:33

yes the police interview was odd
was it a skeleton he saw? i couldnt tell either, he must have seen something because he reacted

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 28/10/2020 08:53

Looked like a pair of boots to me, which I doubt Elise was wearing?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2020 20:03

Catching up from last night

So the police discounted Nathan because Elise was seen trying to get into her boyfriends house later on in the night.which was 20 mins /40milew or something like that

I’m
Assuming they thoight she was dead. She came too. Banged on bf house

Either he killed her

Or she wandered off

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2020 22:19

So Bob killed her to make a ghost

Prob gave dodgy drugs

So what’s the twist going to be tomorrow night ?

OP posts:
Gemma2019 · 28/10/2020 23:01

I'm really enjoying this - very gripping and not gory so great for me.

So Bob killed Elise to make a ghost, but if Elise hadn't asked Nathan to kiss her first before he took the drugs then presumably he would have been dead too? I wonder what Bob's plan was? Looking forward to tomorrow's and hope it's a decent final episode.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 28/10/2020 23:03

What was in the grave then? I couldn’t see. Her remains I assume.

Gemma2019 · 28/10/2020 23:04

Yes it looked like just a skeleton and a sparkly gold top
