Succession. Anyone currently watching?

I desperately need to complain / whinge / vent about an outfit.

(And maybe express extreme envy regarding the British playwrights working on it ...)

I watched the first episode but couldn't find a single character who wasn't highly unlikeable.

I'd like to give it another try as I know it's just been awarded a lot,of accolades but I need to be in the right place mentally 😂

Oh my. It was really quite something. And I didn't realise it was supposed to be satirical and humorous until I'd gasped my way through both seasons and started reading reviews.

Such wonderfully monstrous people. Such ruthlessly baroque dialogue. Such a wealth of talent holding it all together.

And yet, the costume department gave Shiv such a hopelessly poor wedding dress. It was so wrong, so cheap, so throwaway - when we know an entire couture house would have been labouring for months to produce something for her. It has puzzled me very much ...

@PoulePouletteEternellement love this show but all of Shivs wardrobe is a disaster. I put it down to being born so wealthy and confident that she wouldn't give a shit that those godawful woollens are not a good look.

I quite liked some of her wardrobe. The stuff she wore on the yacht was nice. But yes, there were some godawful woollens on her and Tom both- I was really distressed by his polo neck 😂

The writer denied it was based on the Murdochs but it totally is!

However, you know ear worms? I am being plagued by a video worm of Kendall's birthday rap for his dad. I already died several deaths from sheer embarrassment the first time I watched it - now it keeps repeating in my head. I do not deserve this ...

I said this to DH. It looked shop bought. Not in keeping at all! Best series ever though.

Just started it (half way through series one, so no spoilers please) and we're loving it. So darkly funny, really slick writing. Agree that none of the characters are likeable but equally, none of them (except possibly Logan) are completely dislikeable. So you find yourself hoping one of them triumphs, but then not wanting them to because it'll be at the cost of one of the others. Which is what makes it so clever.

If you enjoyed it, what else have you enjoyed? It puts me in the mind of Mad Men and Breaking Bad (both excellent).

Agree it’s similar to Mad Men - although I did prefer Mad Men slightly I really enjoyed Succession and stuck with it.

Agree re characters being Unlikeable but it it’s funny how your view shifts on who is the least worst as it goes on.

I enjoyed Hollywood, on Netflix, similar style too.
