Just that really

Hubby isn't home until 1am, I'm bored and considering it but is it too scary?

No, it's shit.

WhoWants2Know · 17/10/2020 20:01

It's not too bad at all. More sad than scary

OnGoldenPond · 17/10/2020 20:03

It's like a Disney film. Complete travesty of the Henry James story "The Turn of the Screw".

Just seemed to go on and on and on and on .....

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 17/10/2020 20:03

I started watching jt yesterday. Its really not scary at all. I'm not sure if I'll finish watching it though. Its not great. Needs more explanation.

GnomeOrMistAndIceGuy · 17/10/2020 20:04

Im about 5 episodes in - was expecting better

Ynwa12345 · 17/10/2020 20:04

You can watch it by yourself. Don't worry

XylophoneXavier · 17/10/2020 20:05

The scariest thing about it is the awful attempts at English and Scottish accents.

I liked it but it wasn't as scary as Hill House.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2020 20:09

Watched two episodes and waiting for something to happen! It's a little bit jumpy at times but not sure I'll bother with the other 7 episodes! ..
Some of the accents are bad.

SilverOtter · 17/10/2020 20:09

It's not scaryGrin

JanewaysBun · 17/10/2020 20:10

I'm a complete baby and I was terrified after episode 1. I love ghost stories but don't deal well with them, I had weird dreams even after not even watching it properly.

Good story though

StellaGib · 17/10/2020 20:11

The accents were definitely the scariest bit!

One or two jumps over the whole series, nothing like Hill House.

FAQs · 17/10/2020 20:12

I’ve started watching it twice and each time have got distracted because it was so slow going! Not sure if I’m going to bother with a third time.

Dazedandconfused10 · 17/10/2020 20:13

Nah not too scary, I watched it on my own

JollyGiraffe12 · 17/10/2020 20:15

It’s not scary at all. It’s rather drawn out, probably would have made a better film than tv show but it’s still worth a watch if you’re bored.

thenightsky · 17/10/2020 20:15

Nah. Its rubbish.

LuluJakey1 · 17/10/2020 20:18

It just bored me. I gave up on it. Not interesting, not scary and badly written and acted at times.

MadamBatty · 17/10/2020 20:19

I’m the end of episode 2. It’s pure shite. Won’t be watching more

DorisLessingsLesson · 17/10/2020 20:20

I love the Turn of the Screw and The Innocents movie but Bly Manor doesn't even feel like a ghost story. As a PP said, it's more sad than scary. and I'm a complete wimp about ghosts and horror films

onlymyselftoanswerto1 · 17/10/2020 20:26

I jumped more at the goggleboxers watching it than I did by myself Grinas pp have said it's pretty naff but not really scary

Shaniac · 17/10/2020 20:30

Nope. The book was shit and this was shit. Henry james was a bloody awful writer and this adaption is just a ghastly.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2020 20:53

I didn't realize it was ' the turn of the screw' , but set in the 80s.
(Not read the book and not rushing to now if it's as boring as this is! )

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 17/10/2020 20:57

Well the little girl was also the voice of Peppa Pig and she says 'Pahhfectly SPLINDID' every three seconds. So yes.

blueberrypie0112 · 17/10/2020 21:06

I am still trying to figure out if they are being haunted by their own trauma or mental disorder

or an actual spirit

I didn’t finish it btw

Doublechins · 17/10/2020 21:12

Not scary at all more of a love story

nomorespaghetti · 17/10/2020 21:18

The accents! So unbelievably terrible! I agree it’s not scary, hill house was much better.

Love T’nia Miller though.
