Presenter/developer gives two strangers the money to buy a house at auction. They get a budget and six months to do it up; they keep any profit.

Am I the only one who’s hooked? Also long-term soap fans may be interested to know that the host is Simon ‘Damon Grant’ O’Brien of Brookside fame - looking unrecognisable from his teen idol days.

I'm watching and hooked too! Thought the first two girls did amazing, the blonde electrician did so well!

Sounds like 'the block' on Prime. Totally addictive, each series has a different number of couples competing, they have to renovate a property each, one room a week. The different rooms are judged weekly and the winner gets money to help with the renovation. At the end the properties go to auction and the contestants keep the difference between the reserve and the final sale price.

I’ve watched the full first week. Certainly an interesting mix of characters! We were definitely being eased in with the two nice (and successful) girls!

I found the man who was got really into restoring the old sash windows and iron fireplaces interesting. He just couldn’t get that he wasn’t doing up the house to live in and show off.
