Just saw this highlighted in my tv listings.

Looks more like a police procedural.

Hope its not too formulaic!

Hi fives @stumbledin

Was about to do a thread and saw yours

Caught up on this. Very post Me Too, and in some way having women who work together discussing issues like this.

But the police bit, judging by ep 1, aren't going to be too realistic, more the opportunity for our heroine to shine!

Not sure I want to go through all the family complications though.

But loving safe

Well I've just finished watching this and see it is the type of series they usually have on in an afternoon slot.

It reminded me of a slightly less sophisticated The Good Fights. Lots of topical issues, an older woman as the lead (who just happens to be a lesbian) and town hall politics.

So if they re-show on Alibi and you want something not too heavy but with different plot each week along with ongoing personal story you might like this.

Also, have just read that in fact the Good Fight is still being made, but I dont remember seeing a series for more than a couple of years.

Did it move on More 4 and onto some subscription channel.

Thursday evening on More 4 often used to have interesting US imports.

Because it was cancelled Ive stopped myself from watching it.

I found it disappointing, watched until the end and they set up the next series which was then cancelled.

stumbledin · 26/12/2020 21:21

I just found it easy watching. But agree it wasn't really that exceptional, but suspect having an older woman as the lead character meant it was never going to be a big winner!

I really rate Edie Falco and think if the script had been better she would definitely have carried it.

stumbledin · 26/12/2020 22:40

Agree re script and Edue Falco - but she never looked really comfortable. Quite stilted in her manner. But maybe that was meant to reflect the character who was quite low key in her response - to just about everything!
