Anyone watched? German series, sort of Stranger Things for grown ups without the humour or charm. Small town with nuclear power station outside, weird happenings. First episode confused the hell out of me but had worked out what was going on by episode 3.

No I haven’t but it sounds a bit depressing to be honest .
I have Netflix but I also have Amazon Prime and have watched 2 amazing films in the last week .

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/09/2020 01:45

As the username might suggest I have watched it all! Grin

Perfectly done piece of SciFi

avamiah · 29/09/2020 02:01

Just went onto it ,
Do you mean Dark ( 3 series ) on Netflix ?

Mutunus · 29/09/2020 21:23

Viewers seem to rave about this but I'm unable to get past the first ep.
Is it worth persevering?

Faircastle · 29/09/2020 21:25

I enjoyed the first two seasons.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/09/2020 23:20

@Mutunus

I loved it. Are you watching it dubbed into English or in German with subtitles? The latter is much better and makes a huge differences

PlanDeRaccordement · 29/09/2020 23:25

Good show. I really liked it. You start out confused but then start to piece things together and then twist, it’s all wrong and a different picture emerges and twist again.

imnotalpharius · 29/09/2020 23:27

I loved it , absolutely amazing. I will say by the end of the first series you'll probably be just as confused as you were at the start Grin

penaltytaker · 29/09/2020 23:29

Loved it, one of the best series I've seen in a while

WankyDoodleDandy · 29/09/2020 23:52

Love this show!

Definitely recommend in German with English subtitles, though.

Mutunus · 30/09/2020 00:22

EineReiseDurchDieZeit
I watched a dubbed version, so I'll try it in German, but if I don't like it you all have to watch Tales From The Loop Smile

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 30/09/2020 00:54

@Mutunus

As convoluted as any time travel story is it is impressive in that by the end it all makes sense of you persevere. I think "mind bending" as a genre needs to be your thing though

RandomMess · 04/10/2020 20:16

Just a started final series, it's given us both strange dreams tbh 😂

DieSchottin93 · 04/10/2020 22:46

I love it! Already watched series 1 & 2 three times each Grin the more episodes you watch the more everything starts to make sense, it's worth sticking with Smile

ViSovari · 04/10/2020 22:54

Loved it! Also agree with watching the original German version. Incredible TV and the casting is just something else!

0blio · 09/10/2020 22:36

I thought it was amazing. A bit of a challenge to understand all the jumping between time periods but I loved it and when I figured it out I felt a real sense of achievement, like solving a puzzle.
The casting was incredible with the young actors really resembling their older selves.

RandomMess · 09/10/2020 23:51

We watch everything with subtitles tbh

Liked the ending 🌟

EL8888 · 09/10/2020 23:53

It’s great, l really enjoyed it

Pacif1cDogwood · 09/10/2020 23:56

It's an amazing piece of writing to have such a complicated, head-hurting time travel story with so many characters and STILL have it all make sense in the end - I loved it.
Well worth the watch.

AngusThermopyle · 10/10/2020 00:13

It's brilliant. Unlike some programmes/series, it actually tells a great story from beginning to end with twists and turns and wraps everything up beautifully.
None of this-leaving stuff to your own imagination woooo nonsense.

CounsellorTroi · 10/10/2020 00:28

Just finished. Apart from "What are you saying?" being said twenty million times per episode I really enjoyed it!
