Mystery Road Series 2 BBC 4 saturdays - is this too grim to watch even with the unexpected presence of Saga from the Bridge?!

I watched series 1 and did find it quite hard going. Nearly everyone was not very nice!

But only managed episode 1 and half of 2 from the current series before thinking this is just unpleasant. I am sure the main character had become even less appealing. Is he meant to just be dedicated or totally asocial.

And who persuaded Sofia Helin (Saga from the Bridge) to take part.

It would almost have been more fun for Saga and Jay to have been paired up.

I found this 2nd season really really slow, it could have been condensed into 2 hours. Not worth watching in my opinion, such a shame as I really enjoyed the 1st season.

Thanks - not just me then. Wasn't there a spin off called Goldstone which again, a lot of unpleasant people, but was interesting is a depressing way about life in remote communities.

Still on series 1. DH gave up on it after 2nd episode, I'm currently watching episode 3 hoping it moves on a bit more quickly
