I feel sorry for her, another example that having lots of money does not make you happy.

She seems quite sweet, and lost.

I also fine it strange that she created a persona and a character and pretends to be that person, when she's actually quite a smart lady.

Just wandering if anyone else watched it?

Yes I’ve watched it, I found it disturbing. I feel extremely sorry for her, I can’t imagine the terror of being kidnapped and your own parents having arranged it. The abuse was shocking.

Danni290 · 19/09/2020 17:25

@Grumpyoldblonde I know. Isn't it sad though because on the outside so many people would think she has it all made and sorted and nothing to complain about. It just shows you never know a person and what they're going through

Ooh thanks, just watching now!

Danni290 she isn’t someone I knew much about or took much notice of, in my mind she was just a rich girl and famous for being famous. I didn’t know about the sex tape or anything and that must have been devastating for her. I actually searched for threads about her after watching to see if anyone had started one about the film and found loads from previous years calling her terrible names and saying awful things about her. She must have read similar things about herself and knowing what she went through assuming it is all completely true must really mess with your head.

That horrible boyfriend too (Aleck?) deliberately trying to ruin her big festival moment. I’ve read she’s not a ‘real’ DJ or much good but still, it’s what she does and that festival seemed to be a big deal for her.

They’re a weird family from what I can gather, starting with Grandma Kathy Dugan (Paris’s Grandmother) desperate for her girls to marry money.

@Grumpyoldblonde Alek was a total idiot! I have followed her for some years and knew about the sex tape but thought it might have been orchestrated by her but after watching don't think so!!

Such ashame some of these celebrities have so much of everything that normal folks want but still have the same problems. Sad.

I've just watched this and found it really compelling. I've always thought of her as a vacuous rich kid, probably from watching the simple life when I was younger, it was so interesting, and heartbreaking, to see why she had created this persona. It must have been absolutely terrifying being taken from her bed in the middle of the night and it's chilling to think children are still going through such terrible abuse at those facilities. I cried a bit when she reconnected with the women from the school camp. I feel so much sympathy for her. She's built so much for herself but doesn't seem to have found any peace at all. So sad.
