Stumbled on this last night after going onto YouTube and was attracted to the "YouTube original" bit as I guess they're trying to be like Netflix ... anyway, Wow I was stunned by this and left very very sad but enlightened!

Has anyone watched it? I never thought much about Paris Hilton. Didn't dislike her and didn't really think much about the ditzy personal and if it's real or not. I've heard people saying it's an act and I thought yeah maybe also In the Simple Life her proper princess attitude saying she'd never mopped before etc, we had no reason not to believe. Anyway, watch this and see what you think.

I just left it feeling very very sad for her!

She's a vacuous airhead. Why would anyone sit through an entire documentary about her and her over privileged life.

Thank you I'm going to watch this she's always struck me as very damaged. BTW that previous post was quite vile misogyny don't let it upset you.

@Thisismytimetoshine Honestly, that's why you should watch it. She's not.

@InfiniteSheldon Let me know what you think. I'm still thinking about it.

I watched it, and it really played on my mind about the boarding school, apparently there are 100s if these horrendous places over in America, there’s a whole “troubled teen” industry and it’s absolutely shocking. Really upsetting stuff. 😥

She's a smart hardworking woman whose made over US$3 billion from her perfume line alone by controlling her image.

She came across as fragile in some ways and no one deserves to be beaten.

Utterly horrifying I've had to stop it it's very distressing. I remember rowing and then dumping a boyfriend over her sex tape. He said she's released it to garner publicity and could see no problem watching it. I was, and still am, of the opinion it's a form of rape to watch a tape of someone released without their knowledge and against their will. Hearing of the coercion in her own words brought me to tears. I've stopped half way through the the borstal type bit as I need a break. I have dc her age and Paris' mother is bloody lucky her daughters even speak to her. Shame on her.

Ceriane · 23/09/2020 17:46

It’s 10000x worse than Borstal, that was a young offenders institution for young criminals and it would be done properly in a court etc, these places you don’t have to be a criminal or young offender or anything like it. It’s for teenagers who rebel, and one person’s “off the rails or acting out” is someone else’s normal teenager. They can be sent there for minor things like clubbing and drinking underage, or for behavioural problems or mental health issues causing them to “act out”. A lot of these kids are already suffering enough. They kidnap them in the early hours of the morning, screaming at them and the level of abuse they put them through is beyond sickeningly horrendous!!! I can’t believe that this hasn’t come to light, been all over the news and stopped sooner! I cried for hours when I googled it after watching the documentary (really wish I hadn’t googled it to be honest as I feel traumatised just by knowing about it)!

I found this truly heartbreaking. What a story. It explains so much.
