Here it is, shinny new thread!

I started episode one 13 Sept, so today (Mon 15) I am up to Episode 3. I will not post any spoilers at all, only up to the episode I am up to. So if anyone wants to watch along, you can.

Please just no spoilers ahead of wgere we are at. I know it is old and lots of people may know the outcome but let's keep it current and pretend!!

If anyone interested can watch up to episode three today and watch one episode a day (including weekends) we will all be on same page!

Great. I think it is much more 'serious' than the Ozzie version. Couples immediately see why they were matched! Quite different to MAFSA!

Thanks for the thread! I am finding it hard to get into so far. I think I’ve got used to the much more dramatic Australian style.

Pepper Schwartz became an expert on the last UK series too.

I had already started watching when I saw your thread. I have just started episode 4.

They definitely do try to really match them in the US version. I have watched series 1-4. Definitely not as much drama but there have been a couple of fiesty matches who have split on pretty bad terms but some lovely ones too.

Episode 4 of MAFS USA season 5. I love the pastors advice. Don’t talk to your friends about things that are going wrong.

I cannot see how Sheila can put up with Nate's 17 year old brother living with them. Who needs that! And Nate's Dad is awful!

Cody and his brother are fabulous. I hope the brother hooks up with the bridesmaid friend!

The third couple, Ashley and Michael ? I can't help wondering if they will last as she seems to be wearing rose tinted spectacles.

I agree she wants to be married, and so does he. But she is the dream he is looking for, not sure it goes both ways. And I think she also wants babies! I am worried for Cody and Danielle that they have not had sex yet.

I really would not want to be living with my husbands little brother! I know he is kind for taking him in and all but seriously he is like another adult in the house. Like having a room mate!

Ashley is so desperate for babies, I hope she does genuinely like him as he seems to be fairly normal as far as these experiments go

I think she did fancy him a bit but he hasn't taken the lead, so to speak and she really wants that. It seems all the women (except maybe Ashley less so) want strong men to take the lead a bit.

Yes maybe you're right about that, he maybe needs to be a bit more forceful (in a good way of course and not just with romantic stuff).

And yes he looks on the edge quite often, obviously the lack of sex is getting to him

I skim-watched the wedding episodes and got a bit bored. Is it worth persevering with? I think the drama of MAFS Australia has really spoilt me for this.

@Egghead68 I like the experts on the USA series better. Their advice is better and more 'authentic' I think. Where as Australia they just say 'Our couples will be feeling nervous." and I think "No shit, Sherlock!'

And I like all the couples and all the people, although Nate less so!

So only worth persevering if you are there for true love!!!

I feel the UK and US versions are more genuine and is truly about the experiment rather than good tv. There have been 1 or 2 really lovely matches in the earlier seasons and a couple of people who haven't worked but they have genuinely tried and taken advice from the experts and put it into practice properly.

That said I love the Australian one as it is very entertaining!

Cody is a bit useless I think. The whole attending a wedding thing but not knowing what time it is. That would be very annoying.

I can’t get this to play on the iPad and I can’t find it on all 4 on the TV, so frustrating
