Yes the nurses are much more practical.

I love listening to Domi.

Thiem is so Germanic.

It's funny.

Raahh · 02/10/2020 20:43

x post Grin Grin

PrivateSpidey · 02/10/2020 20:48

Straight sets for Sascha eh?! Just as I thought Grin

Good luck with your hospital packing Raahh. Agree about the chocolate. Hope it goes ok, will be thinking of you.

I must say I'm still disappointed about Stan. I was so looking forward to a Thiem-Stan blockbuster. I should know by now not to get ahead of myself Hmm

It would have been good though.

Sigh.

JaneJeffer · 02/10/2020 20:55

Oh yes you are quite the mystic Private Grin

Jane I noticed the Bustas! Grin

Fizzywinegum · 02/10/2020 21:53

I’ve never been convinced that they are looking at the right mark on clay courts - surely there must be lots of marks!

Good luck with the hospital packing Raahh - these days I always seem to overpack for holidays etc - I would definitely check with the nurses.

Maybe just aim for less bags than Rafa takes onto the court Grin

magimedi · 02/10/2020 21:54

Raahh People will be allowed to drop things off at the ward for you. Honestly, the NHS staff are amazing & very good about all the trials of hospital + Covid. I've spent the last 6 weeks in and around hospitals & dropping of parcels (labelled) happens all the time.

I'm still here - DH is still in rehab & on Monday I will be able to see him (2 week isolation post hospital means I can't visit). Things have been tough - he had another UTI & got really confused & hardly knew me on the phone. But (and I hardly dare say it) a corner seems to have been turned & things have been going well for the past 48 hours. His physio reckons he'll be theer for another 10 days or so before he has the mobilty to get home.

I have lost a stone in the last 6 weeks (which was needed) and am OK. Have watched lots of tennis - it's been a godsend to me atm as I am going out as little as possible to keep myself well.

The Viking Cruises ads have made me shout at the TV - they seem to be geared for a Hyacyinth Buket!

Delighted Serena has gone - want Djok to off fock & want the eventual winners to be Rafa & Halep.

Still loving all your blether, even if I have been too tired/stressed to join in.

Fizzywinegum · 02/10/2020 21:55

Yes Battle of the Bustas tomorrow Grin

Fizzywinegum · 02/10/2020 22:01

Hey magi good to hear from you - I’ve been thinking about you. Hope you get to see your DH on Monday and that he comes home soon Flowers

JaneJeffer · 02/10/2020 22:34

Glad to hear your good news magi hope all goes well for your DH to get home to you soon.

I think I've got your stone if you want it back.

Raahh · 03/10/2020 09:44

Lovely to hear from you magi- I hope you Dh is doing better.

I have a tendency to worry about everything. Grin.

Fewer bags than Rafa Grin that is a good way to look at the packing situation . Or I might just get DD2 to wear a million layers. Like Joey in Friends...

Grin
PrivateSpidey · 03/10/2020 10:04

Hi magi lovely to hear from you. Hope your DH is home soon Flowers

Hope the packing's going ok Raahh.

Just looking at the schedule for today - Chatrier looks a bit rubbish, or is it just me?

Khachanov v Garin might be good but that's out on court 14 or something. Muguruza v Collins might be good as well but I can't see much else that looks like it could be interesting...

Raahh · 03/10/2020 10:08

Private I agree- the better matches are on Lenglen/Simonne today, of the show courts . Chatrier is a bit meh.

It is very wet here today. Dh keeps getting messages to see if football is off. He doesn't want to cancel any more matches- it feels like at least a quarter of the league are self isolating. I need to walk the dog. He won't even go into the garden Grin.

Raahh · 03/10/2020 10:11

The Rublev/Anderson match has potential- but Kevin hasn' been playing brilliantly since coming back fro injury/lockdown, and also really doesn't look well.

The Busta match could be a proper Spanish slug fest. Or not. Hard to tell.

Raahh · 03/10/2020 10:17

Unusually, Eurosport 1 is showing Rublev, and not Berrettini. Usually they show the same match, and ES2 shows a different one.

Unfortunately, it's Frew. He puts me to sleep more than Jim does.

Raahh · 03/10/2020 10:18

I'd rather somewhere was showing the Bustas Sad

PrivateSpidey · 03/10/2020 10:24

Oh yes Rublev v Anderson - I forgot about that one.

Will try and watch a bit later, am at the hairdressers atm and DH is on about tidying up the house later Hmm

This weather is so gloomy as well. Ugh!

Raahh · 03/10/2020 10:34

Frew is trying to maintain that Kev lost to Djok at Wimbledon due to his match against Federer, and being exhausted.

I think there was a small matter of the Isner semi final, Frew.

But don't let that stop you shoe horning Roger into a conversation.

Fizzywinegum · 03/10/2020 11:00

The weather looks nice in Paris - much better than here - it’s really gloomy and miserable

I would like to watch the Bustas play but yes I agree there’s nothing else that looks very exciting. Will try to avoid Bert Grin

Oh no I’d forgotten about Frew Raahh - don’t think I can cope with him at the minute

I think I ended up dreaming about Donald Trump last night (fortunately it wasn’t that sort of dream!) - too much late night news watching Hmm

Raahh · 03/10/2020 11:06

I took the dog out for 25 minutes . We are soaked.

It does look a lot better in Paris. I think Djok keeps getting the better weather. Though he's probably happier with the roof shut anyway.

Dreaming about Trump Grin. Is that better, or worse, than dreaming about Djok? They are similar in many ways in their dodgy view points.

Raahh · 03/10/2020 11:13

The Rolex ad makes me laugh- because of course Federer is the brand ambassador for them.

So they have to keep showing a clip of Roger from 11 years ago, because he keeps losing, or not even bothering to play ar RG.
(Whilst avoiding showing pictures of the 12 times champion Grin).

Raahh · 03/10/2020 11:54

Oh dear- no looking good for Matteo.

The qualifiers/young 'unknowns' are causing all sorts of upsets this year (I know it's not over).
