I watched the first episode and I'm not sure what to think. There is a lot of squealing and every other word is "like". I think I need more caffeine before watching it. Are people enjoying it?

Also, I really can't stand it when people organise books by color to make a rainbow, but I love watching cleaning shows so will persevere.

Dd and I have just watched the first episode of this and we couldn't bear the shouting and talking over each other so we skipped to the end just to see the organisation!

Mamette · 12/09/2020 16:22

I started watching it but I couldn’t cope with the sucking up to Reese Witherspoon.

mogloveseggs · 12/09/2020 18:55

Far too manic for me!

Nikori · 13/09/2020 00:26

@Mamette

I started watching it but I couldn’t cope with the sucking up to Reese Witherspoon.
Apparently, it is made by Reese Witherspoon's production company.

I think it would work much better as a 5 or 10 minute show. The rest is just the 2 of them talking really fast and laughing manically.

Ahhh... that makes sense.

Yes it’s a shame because I usually love tidying and organising shows.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 13/09/2020 08:02

I really love it, but I got bored a few shows in. I'd love a deep and organised closet.

NamedyChangedy · 15/09/2020 22:22

I wanted to like it, but I found them so unbearable - the constant cackling and talking over each other. And the one with the eyelashes was so rude to her staff! Also, the amount of stuff some of those women had was just obscene, like shops rather than homes.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 15/09/2020 22:40

I tried watching it tonight, it's truly awful telly.

The sucking up to Reece W, the way they talk and squeal, the fact that what they're doing is basic common sense and yy to the amount of stuff being obscene.

I didn't even make it through one episode.

Nikori · 16/09/2020 03:22

I've watched 2 and a half episodes, but they basically do the same thing in each house: They put up a lot of custom-build shelving, sort everything into storage boxes or on hangers and put it on the shelves in a pretty way.

I was laughing at the garage one because they actually went out and bought a load of random stuff to put in the boxes to make it look nicer.

I was watching Aggy and Kim yesterday on Youtube and they give loads of great tips and ideas and information. It's more interesting. Whereas this lot will spend 10 minutes going on about the importance of "editing" without actually explaining what editing is, how to do it, or what the purpose of it is. I mean obviously they mean decluttering, but how to they advise to declutter? Also what does "archive" mean. Ok, so you no longer need these jeans so let's archive them. What does that actually mean? Do people actually have archives in their homes? Does it mean put it in a box in the cupboard? Marie Kondo would give it a hug, say thank you and charity shop it.

Yeah the fact it's basic common sense. Really irritating and boring program.

NooneElseIsSingingMySong · 16/09/2020 20:32

I’m watching this now. The thing I find strangest is how they come in and take over. There’s very little input from the people getting their stuff organised. I really like shows like this but this is just....it’s too much. They are quite loud and brash. Also it’s very much product placement with the “bins” and plugging the book. I prefer Marie Kondo. I really liked her book (read it 5 years ago and drastically changed my house and storage after reading it!). She’s so sweet and gentle.

TabbyStar · 16/09/2020 20:48

I managed 10 or 15 mins, I didn't like them and I didn't identify with the problem of having to organise three million pairs of shoes. I watched Queer Eye instead, which was much more satisfying.

hopeishere · 18/09/2020 13:12

I'm watching it now. Clea (with the eyelashes) does not come over well at. And the sucking up and sheer level of shite the "celebs" have is obscene.

hopeishere · 18/09/2020 15:46

But I really like Joanna. I do think they have some good tips but it's lost in the squealing and stuff.

I follow them on insta and I think Clea's parents are really super wealthy.

givememarmite · 18/09/2020 18:53

I've been following them on insta for ages and used to enjoy their posts and there were some good tips. But recently it's got a bit showy and annoying and since the show has been on has really put me off them tbh! I haven't even got round to watching any of it but their insta stories alone are making me not want to watch it. Too much squealing and what seems now like fake appreciation and "omg can't believe what we've achieved" etc etc it's way over the top

Winniewonka · 18/09/2020 23:11

I've only watched the first episode but after 10 minutes I had to mute the sound and put the subtitles on! The two of them are so loud and irritating. I do enjoy a good make over show but I've been rainbowing my clothes for years so I've missed a trick there😂 and part of my job involves cataloguing and placing items in logical order so I am already doing what they recommend!

fussychica · 05/10/2020 17:12

I saw a clip of it on Gogglebox and that was enough to show me that I'd hate it, especially all the squealing and screeching which would drive me mad.

WaxOnFeckOff · 07/10/2020 10:01

I'd rather Sumner did a breakaway show. She was far more likeable and no nonsense, clea comes across really badly and joanna was just too wet.

Agree not enough detail and everything comes down to buying into their storage.

Queer eye and Marie come across much better and there's that other one where they completely empty out houses and the people have to go to a warehouse and sort their shit into a square marked out on the floor, everything else is donated or binned. They also spend a week living in an empty house with nothing but the basics.

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 14/11/2020 21:18

I've just watched a few back to back. The normal people's houses are more interesting, thought the kitchen one and the garage was good. But they don't go enough into the edit part. They spend such a short time with the owners. Like the kitchen was stuffed full of far too much stuff.
And they make out like they're going off to buy storage each time, when surely they'd just have loads of the same stuff ready as they have a system that works each time.
And yes, its very loud and squeally.

7Days · 16/11/2020 10:54

I can't watch with all the squealing.
Is there any other programme, like this, but a bit more dour and British Wink?

WaxOnFeckOff · 19/11/2020 19:34

Not British, but the Marie kondo one called tidying up or queer eye is very American but with nicer people. The other one to look for is consumed. Also American but not screamy. If you like manky stuff there one about cleaning up crime scenes which I enjoyed. I think called something like crime scene clean up (does what is says on the tin!)
