Hello. I’ve just discovered this gloriously addictive nonsense, via an interview with Christine in The Times, believe it or not. I know there are a few threads on it but I am only at episode 5 of Season 1 so wondered if anyone could answer a couple of questions/chat here so I don’t see any spoilers from the later seasons?
So, is this “structured reality” then? I never watched TOWIE or Made in Chelsea but I’m guessing it must be along the same lines because there was that scene where Romain proposed to Mary and the cameras were right there in her apartment. Must have been staged, right?
(I read that they are genuinely all estate agents. Jason is a hotshot lawyer too. He said that he agreed to the programme because he thought real estate wheeler dealing would be interesting and was a bit disappointed to realise it would be all about relationships, but now concedes that his version would have been dull).
Romain is French, right? Why does he let them call him “Romayne” like the lettuce when his name must be pronounced “Ro-mahn” (last bit rhyming with “van”)?
Is Lettuce Boy really hot enough to make up for his utter lack of ability to think clearly and string a sentence together? What on Earth do they talk about? Mary seems quite smart, I like her, and she clearly had an actual rapport with Jason.
Do you think that the house stager was trolling Heather with the Navajo blanket and Roman bust? Or that the producers told her to do it?
How can they walk round all day showing houses in those heels? I couldn’t even walk round the block in them. Also, in posho houses you often have to take stilettos off to avoid damaging the floors.
How long must they spend in the hairdressers with all those fancy little braids they all wear? Maybe the programme gives them an on-call stylist.
