Anyone else watching ?
I found it really interesting, particularly the cave houses, still lived in up to the 1950s.
The Jurassic coastline in Dorset was spectacular.

Thank you for mentioning this, I’ve just started watching and it’s the perfect stormy evening tv!

just watched it now ,those cave houses were amazing ,amazing to hear that people lived in them till the 50s ,even my 15yr dd enjoyed it

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 25/08/2020 20:07

It made me want to go visit all these amazing places.

I recently became a life time member and haven't really used it yet due to COVID and one thing and another. The show has got me thinking about what trips I could do and stuff

I want to see those cave houses. One thing i always wonder though, is if the places really look like that. I imagine they would have been really damp.

Saucery · 25/08/2020 20:25

They said the water leaks through the sandstone but the lime wash keeps it at bay. Plus, there would be lots of drafts and the fire in the range on constantly, drawing the damp out.

Loved it. Great advert too for the NT.

Does anyone else really want to see George Clarkes house??

SecretLocker · 02/09/2020 13:10

I've not yet watched the episodes. Please tell me that Will Hardy from Amazing Spaces isn't appearing in this series?
He makes me feel irrationally violent - I can't stand his face or voice or hat or walk or teeth or beard.

If you're near Hidcote, you should go every month (and in the summer there are newts)

Saw the first one, very interesting. However many NT properties are still closed so maybe bad timing.
