So. I watched and loved LoD but can’t piece together who was involved in what so am watching the reruns.

I can’t remember how the last series ended and who did what. What happens to Gates now?
Please could someone do a short summary of what Dot’s involvement was. It’s like I’ve erased my memory bank of all the episodes!

Didn’t Gates die at the end of season 1?...Dot is the caddy (planted in the police force by the bad guys) and also dies later on.

Gates walked in front of a van and killed himself 'in the line of duty' so his family could get a payout. As PP said, Dot was 1 of 4 plants, the others being Gill, Hilton (I think) and probably the kid who joined the police at the end of the last series?

We're re watching it , up to Series 5 now (which is way too confusing for me )

I didn't gel with Series 1 at first , it's slow , but when I watched all the series and went back, a lot clicked .
Like "that wee gobshite" who was the protected witness , his name crops up over and over
