Not seen a thread for this.

I know it's completely bonkers but I really like this odd little comedy. Lee Mack as Stuart the wedding DJ is so funny and the episode with the chippingdale man was so funny.
Dh hates it as the things that go on are so bizarre. His ex wife and her mum make me laugh. It is just a bit of escapism from all the doom and gloom!
I've binged watched them all.
(Reminded me a bit of ' grandmas house' , but more manic.)

Love it

EachandEveryone · 22/08/2020 21:42

It reminds me The Other One I enjoy that too.

The80sweregreat · 22/08/2020 21:48

Hey, glad to get some positive responses.
I can imagine some people will hate it but I love all the mad characters in it especially the next door neighbours!

Just started watching it. Must say I loved all the characters and seems a new angle on the traditional suburban sitcom.

The80sweregreat · 23/08/2020 09:14

The mad neighbours with the camper van make me laugh so much. Dh just rolls his eyes at me and thinks I'm weird , but we've never had the same tastes in comedy apart from our love of 'car share'
I also liked ' the other one' on earlier this year.

Where can I watch this?

The80sweregreat · 23/08/2020 10:08

It is currently all on i player and on bbc 2 Thursday nights at 10 pm.
There are 6 episodes and number 4 is on this week. I've watched them all and it is crazy but also funny.
(The one on this week has a very amusing ending! )

Had me howling with laughter. Which is rare these days.

Also loved The Other One.

AvoidingRealHumans · 23/08/2020 10:29

Thanks, will definitely start this

The80sweregreat · 23/08/2020 10:54

Jay, this weeks one ( episode four) is hysterical and the last few minutes made my day.
I'm easily pleased according to my son who prefers ' the Simpson's' or ' friends' for his laughs.
I feel so sorry for Stuart!

My eyes. 😂

The80sweregreat · 24/08/2020 08:58

I was a bit 'omg' too! ( sheltered life , plus I didn't go to any Chippingdale type shows in the 80 s that were v popular back then and now I know why )

Thanks for the tip OP, I'm really enjoying this! Poor Stuart and that frantic run he does cracks me up Grin

And yes, the Chippendale 😱😂😂😂

Cooroo · 22/09/2020 18:00

DH and I loved this - and like OP I felt as if others might disapprove! It's escapist fun for dark times. How old is the actress playing Madonna? I don't believe she's only 17!

Cooroo · 28/09/2020 00:20

... and thanks to those who mentioned The Other One - we just finished that! I had my doubts at the start but it won me over.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 29/09/2020 08:23

oh i couldnt bear it
perhaps i should give it another chance.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/09/2020 21:34

I was sure I watched something similar earlier in the year. Was there a one off or pilot? I knew the characters and didn’t know why. DH didn’t understand it and I thought I’d seen the back story, but couldn’t find it. Worried I imagined it.

Cooroo · 29/09/2020 22:38

Yes there was a pilot!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 30/09/2020 13:25

Hurrah, not losing the plot.

Where is it now? I can’t find it on iplayer. Any guesses where.....

Cooroo · 05/10/2020 22:06

Yes I can see it on iPlayer!
