because they're missing a billion red flags in numerous men throughout season 4 and 5 (the 2 seasons I've watched)

It is driving me mad! How can they miss it and why are they allowing the women to enter relationships with abusive arseholes? Surely the interview process would weed them out if it was at all robust?

Honestly I thought the same thing it’s shocking

Yup agreed! There’s a couple of long running threads on this show (titles aren’t immediately obvious!) and we’ve all been concerned about how vulnerable the women and how awful the men seem to be. It’s irresponsible really. But if it’s any consolation it seems like most of them don’t last past the duration of the experiment and they’re not really legally married. Even the ones who seem to get on really well apparently aren’t as close as they appear!

I think season 5 is worse than 4. The men are so ridiculous And come with so much emotional baggage or immaturity that it would even test women that aren’t vulnerable.

The focus seems to be about the entertainment factor and sod the women that are getting hurt. Why anyone (genuine) is applying to go on it is beyond me as you don’t need to be a genius to realise the “experts” and producers are just looking for people to take the piss with

I've been watching this too. Season 4. It's 29 episodes long and there's an awful lot of repetition so I've skipped some of it.

Anthony was a total control freak and the Andrew/Lauren/Cheryl thing was also very worrying.

I then watched the very first U.K. one which seemed much more scientific based but neither marriage lasted. It intrigues me but I don't know why.

I'm new to this show living in the US. Seeing the "experts" allow Dan and Jess to remain on the show was a mistake.

  1. The show is based on professional matching. Dan and Jess were not professionally matched.
  2. The show is based on couples who are married being together. Dan and Jess were not married.

The experts didn't follow the actual theme of the show.
