I've just finished gilmore girls and GG year in the life for the umpteenth time and want something else to watch but I'm hopeless at choosing something! Is there something similar, fun and as uplifting on netflix of amazon prime? Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel On Prime - written and directed by the same person as GG. Very funny, but very sweary too

Once Upon a Time is pretty good for a family/community based drama with nice long story arcs. It does have magic and stuff which might not be your thing, but it's very personality driven rather than action driven so similar in that sense.

Forgot to say it's on Netflix.

This is us on prime!

Also IMO very similar in feel to Gilmore Girls but there is only one series of each so far, Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias, both on Netflix.

Have you already seen The Good Place, it's a comedy drama but really good and not like anything else.

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar Both Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias have been renewed for second seasons- yay! ☺️

This is us - it's on prime

Sorry didn't see that it'd had already been said. Parenthood is really good too but don't think it's available on Netflix/prime although you can pay for the series.

Sweet Magnolias on Netflix

I second Mrs Maisel! Also, I really enjoyed Rita and Bonus Familien, both on Netflix, if you're ok with subtitles.
