Just thought I would post. Have no idea what it will be like.

Still missing State of Happiness. Sad

Damn, I love French supernatural dramas, hope it's on iPlayer

enjoyingscience · 25/07/2020 22:45

Just watched the first two - it’s so good!

Nothing intelligent to add, but I’m really enjoying figuring out what’s happened to who.

Alexis21 · 26/07/2020 16:02

Ooooh thank you for this watching now x

Halsall · 26/07/2020 16:11

I quite liked this. Not as baffling as The Returned, which I had to give up on. I'll certainly watch the next two, anyway.

stumbledin · 26/07/2020 18:19

I fell asleep in the 2nd episode!

Not that it was boring but had recorded to watch later when quiet. But must have been too late. So need to catch up.

At the moment I am more irritated with the characters and their situations (same old, same old) then taken up with the "wave". But hoping to get intrigued.

And for anyone who missed it that are repeated on Tuesdays at 11pm.

DH (who's French) and I had high hopes for this, but what a let down. Biggest pile of tripe I've seen in a long time.
The acting was so wooden the surfboards had serious competition , the dialogue totally contrived and the plot ridiculous.

stumbledin · 02/08/2020 16:34

I watched last night. Too much soap opera personal dramas.

I want more x files!

I'm really enjoying. I think the plot is intriguing and I'm looking forward to the finale next week.

BitOfFun · 02/08/2020 22:11

Do French teenagers really dance at any hint of music?

BitOfFun · 02/08/2020 22:13

And where does Max find thirty-odd goodlooking young strangers to follow him to the French equivalent of Whitby?

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/08/2020 21:10

On planner. Thanks

We usually like the same stuff @stumbledin :)

Clawdy · 05/08/2020 21:14

Enjoying it, but some of the characters look a bit similar, so I'm getting one or two mixed up!

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 06/08/2020 07:53

watched one of the episodes twice, as dd wanted to catch up, and it helped
i was confused also,
and agree about the unnecessary plots

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 06/08/2020 07:53

and unnecessary sex

LaBelleSauvage123 · 06/08/2020 14:16

DH and I spend the whole time talking to each other in cod French while this is on. Such fun!
When we caught up with episode 3 yesterday, much of our commentary was based on le utter stupidite of fait le surfing quand le grand vague est dans le ciel.

Halsall · 08/08/2020 22:19

Hmmmm. Cant help feeling it's all getting a bit close to the bone now....

shouldbeironing100 · 09/08/2020 10:28

Well I don't know what to make of it. I agree with the people who said there were unnecessary plots.
I didn't quite understand something at the end but won't say anything yet as it will be a spoiler.
Not the best drama I've seen. A bit disappointed. It was good as French practice but that's about it.

SwedishEdith · 09/08/2020 10:33

I thought this was quite watchable garbage - beautiful beaches and people etc. But, wasn't it rather prescient at the end with...things I'd better not say if it's a spoiler?

5foot5 · 10/08/2020 14:00

I think the best description I have read of this was one TV reviewer who called it "preposterous hokum"

Watched it all for a laugh but it makes sod all sense

LaBelleSauvage123 · 10/08/2020 18:33

I didn’t get the relationship between Marianne and Max, which seemed to come out of nowhere. The little boy was the best one in it!

dimples76 · 10/08/2020 19:51

The interiors of the houses was my favourite part. The parents all seemed to take a rather hands off approach to parenting with Thomas just wandering about on his own.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 10/08/2020 22:43

Yes I thought that!

billydilly · 10/08/2020 23:02

Enjoyably daft. It's inspired me to watch The Returned again; now that was awesome.

enjoyingscience · 11/08/2020 22:44

Just finished this. I loved it! Implausibly attractive people, no real plot, magic clouds. Excellent.
