Seen cardinal recommended on here loads so finally watched and really enjoyed. Are there any other Canadian shows I should look out for? Or anything else I might enjoy? Smile

Maybe Shetland? Or Wallander? Neither Canadian but both have grumpy detectives with daughters and gorgeous scenery!

There's a grumpy detective in Hinterland. I've just started watching that. It's set in and around Aberystwith, I've been there and I was sure it was nicer than that - it's a bit of a Welsh Noir.

Hinterland is excellent but please watch in Welsh if you can (with subtitles obvs). It's called Y Gwyll.

I watched Wistig after Cardinal. Another grumpy detective with a daughter. Smile.

Off piste i know (and sorry to derail) but does anyone know how i can get hold of Wallender in the non - English version?

I've no objection to subtitles but it makes it harder to knit Fair Isle, which I'm currently doing, while watching. I'll give it a try sometime.

How do you feel about subtitles OP? Have watched some good stuff not in English.

Harper's Island on iPlayer

Ooh thank you all for recommendations, will check them out Smile. I have no objections to subtitles, happy to watch anything!

@ageingdisgracefully - Wallender (not Kenneth Branagh) can be seen through Amazon's specialist channel Arrow TV. Subscription is £4.99 after a 7 day free trial.
5 seasons available.
