Anyone else watch this? Tonight's episode didn't have the two families meet up like they normally do, at the end of the show. Sometimes the rich family give advice to the poor family and usually gift them stuff.

Yes but it winds me up how much disposable income someone can have after bills! Some is more than my monthly wage!

purpleme12 · 20/07/2020 00:05

It's because it's repeats on, they're not new episodes and they actually didn't used to meet up in the earlier series.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 20/07/2020 00:14

ahh ok thank you. Yeah, I wonder what they do with their disposable, wonder if they spend it all. It is amazing, considering they will probably have already saved money/paid school fees/bills etc. I didn't realise that house in Rickmansworth would have gone for 2m.

I have seen it

You might be thinking of Wife Swap, OP, as they met up at the end of the episodes but do not remember anyone giving each other gifts.

purpleme12 · 20/07/2020 00:38

No, she is thinking of Rich House Poor House
She's thinking of the recent series where they do meet up and sometimes give gifts of some description. Whereas in the earlier series (which is showing now) they didn't do this

DullDullWeather · 20/07/2020 00:43

Ah ok

I admit I used to watch the earlier series (a few I have seen anyway)

UsernameNotValid · 20/07/2020 00:45

I watched tonight's, it's the first time I've seen it from start to finish.

I don't like the way they portrayed the rich life as perfect and all happy then the poor life as absolutely miserable with no redeeming features- there is a middle ground!

It was sweet when the rich girl said she didn't say thank you enough for all the stuff they have but didn't like the insinuation that only those who work hard get nice things that was made several times. The poorer family work hard too by the sounds of it, but they still couldn't afford the nice things. It's about earning power, not effort.

dododotheconga · 20/07/2020 09:57

Without being overly judgemental, I couldn't quite get my head around the third child in the "poor" family that they didn't have room for and couldn't afford. The husband would have been able to get a job alongside the wife had they stuck at two as both were school age. Their lives could have been much much easier.

The rich family were not a great advert for their own Botox business either....

Old series is playing at mo

They didn’t meet up then

Was only the last /two series They did they

Wish they would return a year later to see if poor family has improved their income

Esp as some rich paid off bills cards / helped them with training etx

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 20/07/2020 23:29

I thought that too Dodo...the rich wife didn't seem to be getting anything out of the experience. I wonder if the poor family feel really down after a week of not worrying about money and living in a luxurious house, a bit like holiday blues.

The mum looked young but completely overdone the botox.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/07/2020 15:20

I did like fact the rich family had more kids

So had to share bedroom in poor house

Usually Same number So have a bedroom each

AllsortsofAwkward · 22/07/2020 15:25

The rich mother looked dreadful her face was abnormal over the top botox, her face didn't move, she definitely over did it with plastic surgery. She came across like she looked down on the poor family the way she spoke about their bathroom. I agree the dad could have got a job in the poor family but he could have been struggling to get work. I know the mam lost her job and was returning to university so she was trying to better herself.

Walk in shower query
Hi In the process of deciding whether to change over to walk in shower with tray and side panel.
We have a small bathroom and the biggest width possible is 700mm x1200 length
Anybody out there got one of these? Is it wide enough?
Thanks
