i need a spoiler cause i cant sleep - is ian beale dead? i.e was whatshisname leaving the soap?

There were rumours that he was leaving but apparently he's denied it. So looks like he's not dead but I don't know what happens to him.

He's gone missing and no-one knows what's happened to him, except his son Stephen who's back from NZ and was with his dad when he disappeard, but is not telling anyone that. If that makes sense
