The diminutive Diego is playing our favourite Norwegian - Caspar Ruud. I’m not sure if Diego is wearing one of the Agassi T-shirt’s but it’s very bright - it’s making my eyes hurt - it’s very carnival!

DH has just come in and said that he’s never heard of either player - I suppose that Norwegian tennis players is fairly niche subject

The AC hose is out already - it looks like one of those horrible muggy, overcast but boiling days in New York (or Cincinnati or wherever it is!)

The AC hose makes me laugh- Diego looked like he was drying his hair with it. It's very loud. The whole unit reminds me of Noo Noo the hoover thing from Tellytubbies.

I wonder if Dimitrov helped with the design (if it can be called that) of Diego's shirt? It is probably part of the famous Agassi collection. It looks like a unicorn has thrown up a rainbow.

DS1 used to be scared of Noo Noo from the Tellytubbies (and the dancing bear!) - he’s never been very brave. ToyStory 4 made him jump last year (he is now 21 )

Oh no- his shirt is Fila, so it's not just Nike who are going for 'gaudy and retro'

I will never let DS1 live down the fact that he jumped behind the sofa when he saw Shrek

I‘ve just switched over to the Khachanov match - for some reason the lighting is very dark and Khachanov’s shorts are very bright - like glow in the dark fluorescent green/yellow

Our Tim has just declared Diego's shirt 'shocking'

And within 5 minutes- we have a discussion on his height . As a very short person, I find it quite annoying that they focus so much on it (I get comments almost daily).

They are discussing worst outfits, and are inviting a top 10 list.

Casper went off court- for nearly 9 minutes. That really is a long time. But I am sure the outside courts are a long way from the dressing rooms at Flushing Meadows.

Oh wow- I have just seen Khachanov's shorts.

Well, my favourite Norwegian is not looking like he will win, but that's ok. I like Diego, even with a terrible shirt. I think Ruud has a big future though.

Apparently at the US open players are going to be allowed virtual players boxes - that should be interesting. Gavin Rossdale got a mention - I didn’t realise he was such a big tennis fan until I watched Wimbledon Rewind.

DH has just said that Diego’s shirt is ‘very bad’! I’m sure that Tim would never have worn anything so gaudy!

Fizzy it is of all time, I think. They have mentioned a few of Bethanie MS's outfits - funny, they haven't mentioned any of Serena's more questionable choices. Lilac tutu?

Nike's Skeletons and Bees collection from last summer was quite odd. It suited some players but not others -i.e Kyle. The bees were actually tasteful- it was the big floral print/ skeleton mix and match that was a bit dubious.

Grigor's splodgy track suit was definitely very bad indeed.

Gavin might be a fan- but his ex, Gwen, definitely looked like she had been dragged along to the 2008 final under protest. .

I am actually going to voluntarily watch a Dan Evans match. Dan is wearing a plain blue top.

Lack of tennis has obviously got to me.

I do like Rublev though.

And Djok has pulled out of the doubles. Not sure what to make of that. Knowing Djok, he's just playing mind games.
