Everything good seems to be an hour long. Sometimes I just have half an hour to fill. Anyone spotted anything good that's a bit shorter?

I May Destroy You.

Detectorists.

Is it a coincidence they're two of the greatest TV series ever?

The good place on Netflix.

Second The Good Place recommendation! Such a great show

Brooklyn 99

Definitely Schitts Creek. You need to stick with it for a few episodes to let it find it’s feet though.

Totally agree! I've actually had laugh out loud moments withMoira... And the kids grow on you as the series goes on.

The good place is also great for light entertainment

Schitt’s Creek for sure. It’s a slow burner - series 1 is ok, not brilliant - series 2 is better - series 3-6 are outstanding and you will cry when it’s over.

Parks and Rec good too. Series 1 isn’t great though - to be honest I would recommend people new to it to skip series 1 and just start straight into series 2

After life (Netflix)
Life in Pieces (prime)
Breeders (sky)
Kim's Convenience (Netflix)- all 30 mins or less I think I'm right in saying.

I May Destroy You - BBC IPlayer

In my Skin - BBC1 & IPlayer

The End of the F**king World - All 4

Blown Away on Netflix. Glass blowing competition. Extremely addictive viewing.

justthecat · 09/07/2020 19:38

The middle

breadwidow · 09/07/2020 20:51

Normal people (BBC)
I may destroy you (BBC)
Chewing gum (channel 4 but also on Netflix which is better as ad free)

Livingthecovidaloca · 09/07/2020 21:02

Schitt’s Creek is brilliant! And always cheers me up Grin

Inside no 9

Superstore is awesome, funny and easy to watch but intelligent. Especially good if you've ever had a low paid job - you will feel very much on the characters' side!

hedgehogger1 · 10/07/2020 09:07

Thanks all :)

Couldn’t agree more about Schitt’s Creek. I started watching it and gave up after a few episodes. I tried again after a few months and really forced myself to end Season 1. Halfway through Season 2 I started loving it and I’m now heartbroken it’s over. Moira has to go down as one of the most outrageously funny and lovable characters in TV history. Also, I didn’t love the sister in the beginning and ended up being one of my favourite characters, I lived for her kidnapping stories.. The documentary episode on Netflix filmed during the last season is very emotional.

The Middle, but it’s made for US commercial TV, donuts only actually about 22 mins.

This is Us, but 40 mins (still less than an hour though).

BikeRunSki · 12/07/2020 17:50
  • donuts = so 🤷‍♀️
