This is starting on BBC1 shortly but we are three episodes in on RTE ( Irish state tv ).
I find it tough to watch - disturbing.
I'm only continuing to watch to see what happens at the end.

I have read the book which I found gripping. The book is set in London, but the tv series is set in Sydney, possibly because the author,Michael Robotham, is Australian? I normally don't like when they change the location of a story like that. To my mind, there isn't much similar between Sydney and London.

rosegoldwatcher · 05/07/2020 19:41

It starts tomorrow, Monday, at 9pm on BBC1.
Looks like my kind of thing.
Thanks OP.

That's the second thread where my posts have gone mad

Sorry

Comefromaway · 06/07/2020 21:50

I missed the very end. Was she having a miscarrige/stillbirth or is she just not pregnant in the first place?

MinesaPinot · 06/07/2020 21:52

Hmm, very intriguing. Enjoyed that.

Wingedharpy · 06/07/2020 22:03

Not pregnant @Comefromaway. Wearing a fat /pregnancy suit.

lazymum99 · 06/07/2020 22:12

Enjoyed that, although guessed she wasn’t really pregnant early on. Do you know if they are putting it all on iPlayer or do I have to wait a week.

Clawdy · 06/07/2020 22:22

You can tell a man wrote the book when a heavily pregnant woman is trying to persuade her partner to have sex! Grin

maddiemookins16mum · 07/07/2020 06:41

Enjoyed it. I do like a good Aussie drama, I like to keep an eye open for an appearance from some old timer from the 80s soaps to pop up in a role.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 07/07/2020 08:25

I quite liked it, was good to see Lady Edith play a dark weird character.

Thought the wanking scene was a bit unnecessary.

Clawdy · 07/07/2020 08:28

Yes, could have done without that.

Did you see any?
The80sweregreat · 07/07/2020 10:46

It's ok , but I've read a few books with similar plots and I find I tend to preempt how it will pan out sometimes.
The acting is good so far , although the married man is a bit annoying and I think I'll grow a bit bored at its over 6 episodes!
I'll stick with it though.

LHMBF · 07/07/2020 11:15

Seen this, watched it online a few months ago, was gripped and love the setting as been to all of the places featured

The80sweregreat · 07/07/2020 14:54

I guess that the sex scene on video link in episode one was to to show how determined she is to get him back. She knew his parents would support her and probably told him he'll have to step up if his going to be a dad , even though he isn't really that interested in her anymore.
Very cunning!

Katinski · 07/07/2020 15:41

Well, it's raining here, I'm in lockdown, so Ive binged on all 7 epis. They're all on iplayer now.
Thanks for the recommendationSmile

chrislilleyswig · 07/07/2020 16:31

I'm tempted to binge on iplayer

lazymum99 · 07/07/2020 17:12

Ooooh all on iPlayer. Too tempting!

Furball · 07/07/2020 21:25

Ive just watched ep 3 - it is on iplayer. I read the book a couple of years ago and I literally could not put it down. Really enjoyed it

NaePies · 07/07/2020 21:49

I binged between last night and today. Really enjoyed it

chrislilleyswig · 07/07/2020 22:21

I was reading that it was based on a true story and funnily enough I remember it

I've not watched ahead yet, but it was disturbing g that she was searching for saws and rope on the Internet
