I’m hooked!
I’ve not seen the film or read the book so I don’t know what’s coming, but I’m on the edge of my seat every monday when a new episode goes up.

Yes, I’m still glued.

DH has got bored and DD (who has seen the film) won’t watch it, but I’m still watching every Monday.

I can't get past all the arm/finger/hand freezing-and-smashing though.

Watching it with dp and we had ordered a takeaway, we were eating it while watching the arm episode.

Suffice to say most of the takeaway didn't get eaten and a lesson was learned.

We’re watching, too. Every episode I wonder out loud about track maintenance....

And how do they get from continent to continent? Did they build massive bridged over the Atlantic/Pacific before the earth froze? Seems unlikely and difficult to do. And DPs favourite which ìs, of there are 1001 cars, why do we only ever
see about 10 of them and why do 1st class spend their whole time sitting in 1 restaurant car. And mine - why are some carriages much wider than others.

I assumed the oceans were frozen solid so the train could just go across. I agree with the contraceptives in the water, though.

I suppose the narrower carriages have service corridors running down the side.

So, what do we think of Melanie Cavill and Ruth?

I think Wilford must have existed, because Melanie needed someone to explain the consequences of the cattle dying to her. She’s clearly a very capable engineer, but I don’t think she’s the overseeing project manager, or at least she didn’t start out that way. She is also benevolent at heart, but having to make difficult decisions.

Ruth is a nasty piece of work. She’s much too comfortable with the arm amputations and the one to watch I think.

Thoughts?

They could have warming jets at the front of the train the clear the track ahead of each rotation, one of the reasons they can’t stop as they rely on the motion of the train for electricity generation.

The Doctor is also on my” do not trust” list.
