DS saw the trailer for it and wanted to watch it. "That looks good Mummy and we're doing it at school. Henry was a baddie wasn't he? It will help me with my history."

I muttered vaguely that it might be a bit too grown up for him...

Desiderata · 26/09/2007 21:35

Me too! Those codpieces are to die for

beansprout · 26/09/2007 21:37

Any series that focuses on the Boleyn period is just an excuse for a good old romp.

Nowt wrong with that, mind.

really looking forward to this. Henry looks HOT.

bookwormtailmum · 27/09/2007 16:31

I'd like to watch that as well .

NadineBaggott · 27/09/2007 16:32

looking forward to this!

lulumama · 27/09/2007 16:32

looks quite, erm, hot , in an historical and edukashional way

SmartArse · 27/09/2007 16:35

Wonder if it's suitable for a 13 year old, being hysterical and edukashnal and that.

lulumama · 27/09/2007 16:46

i thikn most 13 year olds would rather die than watch anything raunchy with their parents

SmartArse · 27/09/2007 16:50

True. She'd miss all the "good" bits anyway, by hiding under the rug on the sofa!

slayerette · 27/09/2007 18:32

Oh no - I've only just recovered from the lust-fest which was James Purefoy as Mark Antony and Kevin McKidd as Vorenus in Rome - and now I have to start all over again with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a fabulously fit Henry VIII???????

Well, if you insist, I'll join you. I like a bit of raunchy Tudor sex educational documentary-style TV on a Friday.

slayerette · 27/09/2007 19:12

Am I killed wonderful Tudor sex thread. Did not mean to...

TheOldestCat · 27/09/2007 19:18

You didn't kill it, slayerette!

With you on James Purfoy - luuuuurvely in Rome, even with eyeliner...

So who is playing Henry then?

Marina · 27/09/2007 19:21

It's that well known red-head Jonathan Rhys Meyers TheOldestCat
Does have Jeremy Northam in as Sir Thomas More...

wheresthevalium · 27/09/2007 19:24

Mind you they will have to go some to beat Rufus Sewell as Charles II, my god I thought I was going to faint watching that

TheOldestCat · 27/09/2007 19:28

Cheers Marina - not sure about Jonathan R-M but Jeremy Northam rings my bell.

Also with you, wheresthevalium, on Rufus in Charles II.

What is it about chaps in historical dramas for me??!

slayerette · 27/09/2007 19:30

Oh, with Jonathan R-M it's the mouth. Sooooooo poutily kissable (she says, making up bizarre words randomly...)

TinyGang · 27/09/2007 19:33

Oh yes! This'll be right up my street...purely for educational reasons of course

wheresthevalium · 27/09/2007 19:43

So is it tomorrow or 5 October?

Title please so I can sky+ it?

PhoenixSongbird · 28/09/2007 14:35

?The Tudors? Friday 5th BB2, not sure what time. I?ll watch it mainly for, ooh, let?s see Jonanthan Rhys Meyers, Callum Blue, Henry Cavill, Jeremy Northam?. I?m sure there are lots more!

Ladies, start your hormones!

I actually caught some of this when staying with ILs in Northern Ireland a couple of weeks ago (it was on RTE) and it was quite diverting! FIL wasn't convinced though, so we watched some other crap in the end.

Carameli · 02/10/2007 17:41
