I've just finished series 5 and feel bereft. I have a crush on Jimmy Perez and will miss the scenery and characters. Tosh was great I thought. I've watched all of Vera, The Loch, Broadchurch, Endeavour, Morse, Lewis.

Bletchley Circle is on my list but what else?

Unforgotten
Cardinal
DCI Banks
Hidden

RhianFuckingMorris · 17/06/2020 20:33

Hinterland. I watched all 3 series in a week. Loved it. It's on Netflix.
I've only seen first series of Shetland and loved that. What Did you watch it on? Not seen it on Netflix.

RhianFuckingMorris · 17/06/2020 20:35

Another drama that was good was Hidden. I think its was BBC originally but not sure where it's available now.

JacobReesMogadishu · 17/06/2020 20:36

Second Cardinal.

SavageBeauty73 · 17/06/2020 20:36

Cardinal is brilliant. I love Unforgotten.

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2020 20:37

Oh yes, Unforgotten is superb.

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2020 20:38

Wallander – the Swedish original not the remake.

emmetgirl · 17/06/2020 20:43

Unforgotten
Line of Duty
The Fall
Scott and Bailey
Vera

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2020 20:44

David Tennant has done several rather good single-series murder mysteries: Deadwater Fell and The Escape Artist.

PerkingFaintly · 17/06/2020 20:45

OMG, The Fall.

Yes. That.

stormsurfer · 17/06/2020 20:47

Oh yes! How could I forget the Fall? Brilliant!

stormsurfer · 17/06/2020 20:48

Yes Hidden is on BBC iPlayer.

UncleShady · 17/06/2020 20:49

YY to Hinterland and Hidden.

DeborahAnnabelToo · 17/06/2020 20:53

Cardinal, definitely! Beautiful, bleak Canadian landscapes and brutal murders. Though I struggled with the torture in series 2.

areallthenamesusedup · 18/06/2020 00:02

Actor who plays Jimmy Perez is brilliant. Check out The Silence if you can find it. A BBC drama from around 2010 ish. He plays a detective. EXCELLENT SERIES./

Oh, and he is also in Collision..which is also a good series.

Not that I am obsessed or anything...he just picks good dramas.

Lawless Heart is an excellent film he is in too.

He is one of those actors that seems to choose his parts carefully.

PerkingFaintly · 18/06/2020 00:05

Yes, Douglas Henshall. Definitely someone I turn on the telly for.

TheMurk · 18/06/2020 00:11

Dublin Murders.

Weird, but had a Shetland vibe. Murder mystery.

SenecaFallsRedux · 18/06/2020 00:19

For a more urban vibe

Prime Suspect 1973 aka Prime Suspect: Tennyson, a prequel to Prime Suspect
London Kills

Shanghaisue · 18/06/2020 09:32

This is us

SavageBeauty73 · 18/06/2020 16:13

@OhioOhioOhio I started This is Us last night and I watched 5 episodes sobbing!

IntermittentParps · 19/06/2020 13:05

Some of these (Cardinal, Hidden) are less 'cosy', for want of a better word, than Shetland. Not a criticism (I love them) but just a heads-up.

Wisting (Norwegian, I think; on BBC recently) is good, and probably a bit closer to Shetland in feel than the really nasty ones.

Shanghaisue, they were due to start filming new Shetland this March (I follwo Douglas H on Twitter) but obviously had to postpone. Sad

Quackersandcheese3 · 19/06/2020 13:17

Hidden
Line of duty
Unforgotten
Life on Mars
What remains was so good but I think it’s not on I player anymore.
I’m going to try cardinal next .

Sertchgi123 · 19/06/2020 19:36
