MIL is 89 and shielding. We got her a Facebook Portal and it means we can sort of ‘hang out’ virtually. We want to watch a box set with her and would love recommendations! Ideally Netflix cos we all have that.

Not loads of sex! But she enjoyed Big Little Lies so she can cope with a bit.

The beautiful game on netflix
It is only partly about football. My mum loved it.
Most of it is set in the mills and portrays the relationship between the working people and mill owners.
Good if you like period dramas.

Another one saying Anne with an E. I watched it with my 8yr old and we loved it.

We then were recommended When the Heart Calls on Netflix, from an Anne with an E fan. It’s another period drama, set in Canada, but 1900 or thereabouts. It’s a Hallmark show, so it’s a bit formulaic at times, but I enjoyed the period costumes and the characters. It dealt with grief and loss fairly well, and skirted around feminism a bit. Nothing shocking, pretty entertaining and nice scenery.

Dead to Me on Netflix is good. The Kominsky Method is wry but very funny.
