First episode of a new series this time based in Merseyside. In awe of these amazing brave people who look after us. Bawled my eyes out at the end though 😭

Me too 😭😭😭 it was so bloody sad, the paramedics and call handlers are amazing people!

mrscatmad31 · 04/06/2020 23:32

I cant sleep after watching it, I cried my eyes out and hugged my 4 month old a lot tighter

purpleme12 · 07/06/2020 00:59

I've never had to call 999 before
At one point it said there were calls queueing but a bt phone handler had thought one was life threatening
So do you always go through to a bt phone handler beforehand then?

Muddlewitch · 08/06/2020 22:28

I think it's the person that asks which service you require - police, fire, ambulance etc. I assume if you say ambulance and they can't transfer it they work out whether it's a critical emergency.

ClientQ · 08/06/2020 22:37

(Ex 999 call handler)
Yes, you'll go through to the BT operator who will ask what service. They don't any more but they used to pass the telephone number to us by reading it out. If you say something and hang up, they can also play the recording of it back to the call handler
If there is a queue then like on the programme (I think this is area specific maybe as someone on here once was adamant I wasn't telling the truth!) then they ring directly to the centre and the call is passed that way if it's incredibly serious

It made me smile when the ambulance person said 'you alright, cock?' I wonder if she's from our neck of the woods

purpleme12 · 15/06/2020 22:42

It's the end bit that gets me when the music comes on and the voiceover

Elderflower14 · 30/09/2020 21:19

Anyone watching tonight...?

MondeoFan · 30/09/2020 21:21

Yes me ahhhh poor Irene

Elderflower14 · 30/09/2020 21:24

I loved Catherine... When her husband cupped her breast!! "You haven't done that in a long time!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣
The little boy fitting upset me a lot... Ds2 fitted and we nearly lost him when he was two weeks old... 😔 😔 😔 😔

TokyoSushi · 30/09/2020 21:45

LOVE the Australian(?) paramedics!

Toddlerteaplease · 30/09/2020 21:59

Lovely that the paramedics bought that bloke a McDonald's but surprised it's allowed! Slightly worried about how invisible the two paramedics were as they cycled home in the dark.

purpleme12 · 30/09/2020 22:02

There's already a thread about this new series that started a couple of weeks ago

Elderflower14 · 30/09/2020 22:06

I looked and couldn't see a thread... Confused
