WTF things that the Netflix algorithm has chosen for you

I'll start. Netflix just sent me an email suggesting that I should watch Zombeavers. The description is 'A group of randy college kids partying in a woodland cabin gets a nasty surprise when a horde of ferocious zombie beavers attacks.' Umm, no thanks. I have recently watched Space Force, Downsizing, Outer Banks, a documentary about Black Holes, The Good Place (again), 2036 Origin Unknown and Comedians of the World. Even a cursory glance would indicate that I like sci-fi, science and comedy and not crappy horror.

Perhaps I should watch it in case Netflix has realised something about me that I don't even know about myself.

That's hilarious! I don't get emails from netflix so i gave nothing to share.

I broke Netflix by watching Korean drama. My husband made me a separate profile and it took about 2 years for our previously shared profile to “get back to normal“ and start suggesting majority English language content again. I get hardly any English content on my profile & I have to view DH’s to get ideas if I want to watch anything without subtitles. Someone told me once you can scrub your Netflix account completely but it wipes your entire history & then starts recommending stuff you’ve already watched. The only way to get out of the hole is to retrain it by watching lots of something else. Catch 22 is that it won’t tell you about anything else. 🤷‍♂️ Split your profiles for areas of interest is my advice.

I've watched a fair bit of foreign language stuff including Korean, mostly just the first few episodes. Netflix never offers me foreign language series, so I expect it has assumed that I was just doing it to show off.
