Tiger King - a question for those who've watched it

clackymules · 26/05/2020 19:56

I've got this on my Netflix list BUT I'm wary about watching it, because I am massively sentimental about animals (couldn't even cope with The Littlest Hobo as a child, when he'd leave at the end of every episode... Hmm) so my question is - is there any kind of animal cruelty in Tiger King?

No details please - a simple 'yes there is' or 'no there isn't' will suffice!

Thank you!

Oh yes.

Cocobean30 · 26/05/2020 19:59

Yes unfortunately and made it difficult to watch, despite being engrossed by the crazy storyline

PickUpAPickUpAPenguin · 26/05/2020 19:59

Yes there is

NeutralJanet · 26/05/2020 20:02

Yes there is, nobody in this show should be allowed near an animal.

kenandbarbie · 26/05/2020 20:03

There sort of is. They don't show anything directly really and just talk about it.

Rubyred24 · 26/05/2020 20:05

Probably not "as bad" as what you're imagining though.

DipseeDaisey · 26/05/2020 20:08

Sort of....You don't necessarily see any anything directly, but there are situations that get spoken about, It is a good watch though, Give it a go if you can.

Nothing graphic visually. I struggle watching any animal cruelty but didn't with this.

flibbertmygibbert · 26/05/2020 20:11

I’m super sensitive and have also put off watching it for ages. I spent most of the episodes enraged at these awful, awful people. You don’t see any violence towards the animals that I can remember but the emotional abuse is sad, however that’s just imagined by my own sensitive brain. You don’t see it. Having said that, it is worth a watch. And reminds you how totally bat shit crazy some people are! And I love Carol Baskin.

Its a documentary about 3 sociopathic narcissists. Its not just animal cruelty, theres a lot of cruelty to the people around them too.

On the one hand we need to know people like this exist, bring it out to the sunlight and all that, but it does make it difficult to each.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 26/05/2020 20:11

Massive amount of animal cruelty in my opinion

BumbleBeee69 · 26/05/2020 20:14

I managed half the first episode and found it too sad.

They show a scene where a newborn tiger is removed from its mother, the mother tiger is unhappy but unable to do anything as she is giving birth to the second cub.
