Shows to watch with my DS (17)

Hi all

Looking for suggestions for shows to watch with my DS, who is 17.

Tend towards SF and smart comedy.

Ones we've watched are:

The Boys (a bit violent for me)
Umbrella Academy
The Mandalorian
The Expanse
Brooklyn 99
Rick and Morty (more his thing than mine)

We enjoyed the first 3 seasons of The 100 too, and season 1 of American Gods. He also liked Attack on Titan but anime leaves me cold.

Any ideas for what to watch next?

Thanks in advance.

Orphan Black
Ozark
Money Heist
Power

Thanks for all your responses!

I do like the look of Orphan Black, will give that a go!

I'll check out the Santa Clarita Diet too.

I know lots of people love Peep Show, but I find it hard to like a show where I can't stand any of the main characters. Hence why I am not too keen on Rick and Morty.

Thanks again.

We've just started Devs, looks promising. DS19 likes it.

DurtySarf · 25/05/2020 08:57

Thank you all for your further suggestions.

@DelphiniumBlue, we watched the first episode of Devs a couple of weeks ago, but found it quite slow and perhaps a little pretentious. But do let me know how you get on, maybe we should give it another chance.

@quarentini, he's already watched Tiger King, so that is a good suggestion for anyone else reading.

@audreyand, I'm a big scaredy cat, and Stranger Things is too scary for me.

@MrsSlocombesPussy, Future Man is another one where we watched the first episode but decided not to go further.

@sleepwhenidie, we love the Good Place! Have rewatched it several times.

@GreatestShowUnicorn, Upload looks good, we'll give that a go.

Last night we started on Dirk Gently..., may stick with that.

If anyone else is interested, I remembered two more shows we've enjoyed: The Witcher and Russian Doll.

Thanks again, this is a great list to work through.

He might like Silicon Valley, comedy about an internet start up. The episodes are 30 mins so good for watching when you want something shorter than an hour.

Breaking Bad? although quite violent
Death Note is a great anime (especially since he liked AOT)
Star Trek: Discovery (we didn't really like, prefer the Picard ones)
The Orville (space sort of comedy based on Star Trek)
Futurama
Dark Matter scifi series

For a one off watch the National Theatre streaming of the Barber Shop Chronicles. It's modern & there's a lot of substance to it.
