The new Ryan Murphy show? Its trash but completely addictive. Its just so camp. Has some big names in it but the man who plays Rock Hudson? Is he supposed to be that wooden? Its pure fantasy but but I enjoyed it.

Ok, it might just be me, but I couldn’t get past how the guy who played Rock Hudson looked a lot like Father Douglas and that was kind of distracting. I enjoyed the series though. It wasn’t quite was I was expecting.

3cats · 09/05/2020 18:47

I meant Father Dougal. It got autocorrected.

BitOfFun · 09/05/2020 18:49

Apparentl, Rock Hudson really WAS that bad to start off with, and often needed dozens of takes to get his lines right.

It was tacky but entertaining

TheYellowOfTheEgg · 09/05/2020 18:53

I really enjoyed it and it was meant to be a fantasy of what could have happened if studios had been braver.

great sets/costumes/handsome men. Very strange, but fun.

RedWillowWreckless · 09/05/2020 20:40

I thought it was daft as anything but loved it. The sets and the costumes were amazing.

I just got swept along and enjoyed the ride.

Me too. I watched it in two goes. Shame its a one off.

I 'lost' last Sunday to it , soooo camp - loved it.

southeastdweller · 10/05/2020 07:35

I enjoyed it - great costumes, art direction, pacy storytelling - but the actress who played Camille was awful, probably only cast for her looks and undermined the show for me.

EachandEveryone · 10/05/2020 10:06

Ive seen her in something before. It wasthe nasally pregnant wife I thought was rubbish. Lo and behold if shes not the daughter of Judd Apatow. Really gets my goat.

Still working my way through the series. As pp said great way to loose an entire Sunday.

LEELULUMPKIN · 11/05/2020 15:07

I've got two episodes to go and I am LOVING it! I am a big fan of most of Ryan Murphy's other stuff.

Just how brilliant is Jim Parsons as Henry Willson? He steals every single scene and I can't take my eyes off him.

The guy who plays Rock Hudson looks like a young Jim Carrey to me so I can't take him seriously as the character.

Loving Dylan McDermott (who doesn't?) as Ernie, and Pattie Lupone is always great.

I really hope there is a second series.
