Just finished series 1. Not for everyone! Toxic Dad, Christianity, relationships, but for me compelling and original. Anyone else?

Just noticed your thread.

I watched it last year and thought that it was excellent. Lars Mikkelson (brother of Mads - I did not know this!) is a superb actor; his portrayal of a deeply flawed husband and father was compelling.

The ending! So very sad.

There is a second series - not yet available on Channel 4, but I have seen it. Ties everything up well.
