Hopefully not before the end of this thread! Sad

OP posts:

Does David bother going to work these days?
How is Dev going to afford Oakhill school fees?
What happened to the mystery man staying at the Rovers who Jonny fled to France to avoid?
Is Craig the only cop in Weatherfield?

woodhill · 01/06/2020 22:06

Exactly Clawdy, police wouldn't have time and it would have to go to court. It's just very annoying now

woodhill · 01/06/2020 22:07

Wouldn't they have tried to look at his laptop or remove it

Smallsteps88 · 01/06/2020 22:21

I don’t think the police would have reason to look at the laptop yet. As far as they know a woman got drunk and attacked her husband. Yasmeen is refusing to say anything at all so they have no idea about financial abuse, cheating, stealing from the business etc. If they had heard about that they’d probably take it to look for evidence. Aliyah needs to go and make a formal report about Geoff stealing from the business and get the ball rolling.

Honeyroar · 01/06/2020 22:39

Does she actually know that he’s been stealing? I can’t remember.

Smallsteps88 · 01/06/2020 22:41

Yes and she confronted him in front of Yasmeen but he lied and said he used the money to buy new menus for the restaurant. However just before he attacked Yasmeen she worked out he had been lying and had stolen the money and he admitted it to her when she asked him.

BlackCatsRule88 · 01/06/2020 22:54

Tonight’s episode made my angry. I hope in the long run it turns out the police do help Yasmeen, but at the moment it feels like any good work that the writers have done to help victims of DV will be undone by showing how incompetent the police are. Craig was bloody awful! I can see women who are already feeling like no one will believe them, that the police will be taken in by the abuser etc etc will just have their fears confirmed.

This storyline (and others like the racism one and the PND one) seem to be falling really flat and becoming unbelievable.

Redglitter · 02/06/2020 00:56

Theres no way Craig would be sent to calls in the Street its ridiculous

And since when did Geoff own half the house?

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 02/06/2020 07:48

I can't stand these storylines that just seem to end, never to be seen again. It must be terribly confusing to older people, trying to follow.

eddiemairswife · 02/06/2020 08:11

I find Craig utterly unconvincing as a policeman.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 02/06/2020 08:48

And that one scene with the giant camera destroys all believability imo.
It's ridiculously huge and incredibly poorly hidden, blind Bob and his Labrador could have found that. I think real cops would have taken the laptop too tbh. Someone's made the accusation of the abuse, I think a detective would be looking into it.

Roussette · 02/06/2020 09:39

I always imagined a secret camera being disguised as a teddy bear's eye, or disguised as a screw on something.
I read a lot of detective novels Grin

This camera was bigger than a golf ball!

We always knew Tim was a bit thick but to swallow the story of the hidden camera was honestly one step too far...

As for Shona and the choc chip cookie, this story is unbelievably daft too and I'm not that interested in it!

Cheeeeislifenow · 02/06/2020 09:58

What happened to the mystery man staying at the Rovers who Jonny fled to France to avoid?
Is Craig the only cop in Weatherfield?

Completely forgot about that, as did the writers it would seem.

Smallsteps88 · 02/06/2020 11:13

Are Jenny and Johnny still in France?

Deadringer · 02/06/2020 11:36

I have always assumed that Yasmeen thought the camera was part of the security system that Geoff installed.

YouDirtyMare · 02/06/2020 12:33

Oh God, the mystery man Grin

woodhill · 02/06/2020 13:07

I meant Ryan and Aaliyah may look at laptop for the business situation and stealing or have removed it even

eggandonion · 02/06/2020 14:29

Do they have keys?
i think the chip boxes were in the wrong bin, Sally will move them and find the camera, Tim said they were having chips. People in Corrie eat chips all the time.
(I want chips now).

Roussette · 02/06/2020 14:30

Ooooh egg that would be brilliant!

I think Sally could be open to Geoff not being perfect and innocent.

eggandonion · 02/06/2020 14:43

I'd imagine Tim and Geoff both use the wrong bins, but Sally is an expert in what goes where.
I'm like Sally!

Roussette · 02/06/2020 14:59

And I did notice he sort of placed it in the bin, don't know why. Wonder if he thought he would retrieve it later

If it were me I would've wrapped it up in the fish skin so no one would think of looking Grin

ellenanora5 · 02/06/2020 15:34

Just agreeing with everyone else, the size of hidden camera was ridiculous, I know I said it before but we really need Tims Mum to arrive on the street and fill in the blanks for Tim.

I nothing much to say about Shona and that story line except it's crap!

KeepingTwoChevronsApart · 02/06/2020 16:07

I don't like the way Shona's gone all rude to people. I stopped watching for a while so didn't see when she first came into it, but she was quite rough back then?

Fiddlersgreen · 02/06/2020 16:19

Yes didn’t she steal David’s wallet or something and that’s how they first got talking? Or have I imagined that?!

PuppyMonkey · 02/06/2020 16:22

Hopefully Sally will come across the camera and Tim will confide about the laptop he saw his dad using, thinking there might be some evidence that could help prove Jasmeen was a drunken bully etc. Gotcha! And even though he’s deleted the files from that night, there will be other times he’s forgotten about or something.

Gah! When do the episodes run out, I bet we’ll never see a resolution. Confused
