Time: The Kalief Browder Story.
Has anyone seen this?
I've just finished watching it and it's a very good eye opener to some aspects of the system in New York. It's based around Rikers Island.
I won't ruin any of the story line (and please ignore the fact it's made by Harvey Weinstein)

Is it on Netflix? I'll look out for it. I'm fascinated by all of those New York Islands.

Yes it's on Netflix, I saw it last year, really good!

Yes! Really good - it's very sad though. I shed a few tears.

I’ve finished it. Thank you @hardyloveit for recommending it.

I could only watch it in blocks of about 20 minutes because it was so upsetting and difficult to take in.

@SavoyCabbage glad you liked it!
Have you seen the Central Park 5 one? That's really really sad

No, I’ve read about it though. I might build myself up to it.

My in-laws live in New York and my dh is always saying it’s one of the worst places in the world to be black and poor. I can’t understand why anyone would choose to live there. They live in Brooklyn and MIL says immigration stop buses now and check everybody’s ID and they close off shops and check everyone’s ID. What a way to live.
