Terrible films but it seems to be pretty much the only thing BBC1 has to offer us right now.

Haha DH has just turned the TV over and I said "wasn't this on earlier" - but apparently that was a different Indiana Jones.

Yawn.

iklboo · 13/04/2020 18:49

It's the last (and worst) one tonight. But I suppose with lockdown they've had to rearrange the schedules with stuff they already had. It's not as bad as ITV and its perpetual Harry Potter-athons. Grin

HappyLemonSadLemon · 13/04/2020 18:51

I went into labour with DD1 on a Bank Holiday and the Indiana Jones with the annoying kid who just yells "Indi! Indi!" all the time was on. I nearly threw the TV out of the window.

Very true. I've switched to ITV.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 13/04/2020 18:54

Ha my DH just discovered these were on and was so happy, we've been watching them all in a row all afternoon Grin

HappyLemonSadLemon · 13/04/2020 18:56

DH is pretty pleased about it too which is why I'm on here whilst trying to ignore the TV.

I love the first three. The Last Crusade is still the new movie of the series to me...even though it’s 31 years old. I watched it again this afternoon

RhinestoneCowgirl · 13/04/2020 18:59

We watched the third one this afternoon, precisely so that I could have a nap - I've seen it several times so not worried about missing any of the plot. What bank holiday afternoons are all about, surely?

DD (11) hadn't seen it before and enjoyed it.

The80sweregreat · 13/04/2020 21:37

I hate them all.

mizu · 14/04/2020 10:10

How very dare you all, you can never have enough of Harrison Ford on screen - fact Grin

Melfish · 14/04/2020 10:19

mizu you'd have loved being at my school. Our end of term 'treat' was a Harrison Ford film as my teacher was a massive fan...

bookmum08 · 14/04/2020 10:23

It would be great if they showed the TV series Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Lots of 'Before They Was Famous' folks are in it.

HenSolo · 14/04/2020 10:32

But look at him! Grin

Enough Indiana Jones already!!
bookmum08 · 14/04/2020 11:11

I remember years ago I was happily watching a programme on the beeb when suddenly mid programme it changed to an episode of Great Railway Journeys. It turned out there was a power failure at the TV station and the broadcast had to switch to it's Emergency Back Up Programme. Obviously that would have to be a programme suitable for all ages and can be shown any time of the day. Steam Trains it seems are suitable for all.
If lockdown goes on for several more weeks that's probably what all TV will be. Steam trains and maybe some antique selling programmes.
Enjoy Indy while we can Grin

Pandoraslastchance · 14/04/2020 12:00

Book mum, I also love the Indiana jones chronicles. Not seen them for ages though.

Who doesnt love a bit of Harrison Ford? I live in fear that he will one day be outted as a bad person.

oldwhyno · 14/04/2020 12:29

Nah, they're great films!

Afolnerd · 14/04/2020 12:30

Harrison Ford is worshiped as a god in our house and can do no wrong. (Personally I hate the second film though!)
We may have a child named after one of his characters.

Treanor · 14/04/2020 12:32

They're great films. I recall the BBC being criticised before about regularly showing these films and their response was that a lot of people watch them

bookmum08 · 14/04/2020 12:35

Pandora thinking about it now it's probably about 20 years or so since I've watched Young Indy. My sister had the box set - on video tape. Not even dvd!

bookmum08 · 14/04/2020 12:39

Ooh no actually think I was wrong Pandora - I believe the Young Indy Chronicles was one of the first dvd box sets she got. Came in a fancy box with a little passport I think.

The80sweregreat · 14/04/2020 13:14

I remember Harrison Ford being interviewed on tv in the 80s ( no idea who was doing it though) and he was so boring! Yes and no answers , looked fed up and not engaged.
Put me off him for life.
