Disinfect taps once a day or after every use? That is just never going to happen here.

Wash the floor and then rinse the mop in freshwater between dunking it in the cleaning water every time. That is never going to happen here.

It would be nice to have a really clean home but let's face it I'm not going to do it. Impossible.

None of my household seem that bothered about deep cleaning, even though i could have had it. I’m the one using antibacterial spray on handles etc, but only once every few days.

Hot soapy water is hugely effective against bacteria and viruses.

And cheap.

The programme was about covid, and I appreciate antibacterial products work against bacteria. However, I know we’ve all gone a bit antibact mad recently, so I thought they would mention it.

I've been in this house over 2 years and never washed a door handle 😬. It's never occurred to me.

Why 'interestingly'?

They're removing a VIRUS. They're using things that remove a 🦠. Soapy water (and a good rub) or a solution of bleach. Bleach correctly made up as per the label (re virus). Neat bleach is less effective than a correctly made up bleach solution.

@TheClitterati. Of course it's not 'impossible' to clean properly. It just depends whether you want to or not. Most people don't use a mop properly, they just swish the muck around the floor. I love my steam mop. One pad to get rid of the actual muck and a clean pad to go over and make sure it's completely steamed & clean.
