Oh my god - why can’t people just write things down for Ben Mitchell?

Eastenders rant.

Ben has been deaf for over a month now.

So many people have tried to have serious chats with him. Never thought to write anything down even when becoming more frustrated by Ben not hearing him.

Even the audiology doctor a few weeks back didn’t write down his explanation when trying to tell Ben the issues and plans for his hearing.

Am I missing something? Why can’t people write down things for him/type it on their phones etc? Is this annoying anyone else?

Ben's character has always been deaf. He was originally played by a deaf actor. His cochlea implant is broken. This would never happen as they are programmed by computer. Storylines are naff

Yes I thought he haad been deaf for a while. I don,t think it is implausible to think an implant can stop working.

The character has been partially deaf since having meningitis as a baby. I did think over the years how this seems to have been forgotten about.

I wasn't aware that he'd been played by a deaf actor in the past though.

And why does Dotty keep talking about ‘The Archers’? She’s been doing it for weeks now!

No she's on about the Arches, which is where the garage is ie railway arches/viaduct.
