I am posting this with some reseravations!
It is in fact a Hollywood western, made by Tommy Lee Jones. Also stars Hilary Swank.
Although a western the theme is about the impact on women of frontier life, surrounded by men / male violence.
Some say it is misogynistic, some say feminist.
My memory is that as usual the depiction of violence is over done.
This is not light escapism!
