It will be lovely to catch up with everyone but also quite sad.

Oh thanks, OP.

ellenanora5 · 26/03/2020 13:09

Your welcome Pickwick

Bumping for tonight, think there were quite a few of us watching the last time it was on.

Thanks, looking forward to it. They'll be sadness but it's always so well made, thought-provoking and poignant

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 26/03/2020 20:55

How old are they now?

MiracletoCome · 26/03/2020 21:03

They are 18 now

Toddlerteaplease · 26/03/2020 21:04

How on earth are the kids now adults?! Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since the first programme!

Elderflower14 · 26/03/2020 21:10

Now watching... Knowing it will be sad... There was another young man called Nathan who was in it for a while then he was taken out...
I've been through a similar journey with my ds2 who's a bit older... He loves watching it...

I know, time goes by so quickly it's frightening.

SnakePlant · 26/03/2020 21:19

Bloody hell Zoe and Hamish. So mature. I’m sorry but they can’t be 18 already. That’s crazy

AngelaScandal · 26/03/2020 21:27

How are they grown up already?!

Elderflower14 · 26/03/2020 21:32

Shelby...
😔 😔 😔 😔 😔

Toddlerteaplease · 26/03/2020 21:32

I think one of them is a mumsnetter, possibly Zoe?

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 26/03/2020 21:34

Blimey Hamish was in the Paralympics and the two girls going to uni, they've done so well for themselves.

Notredamn · 26/03/2020 21:38

They're all amazing. I grew up watching this, I'm tearing up ❤️

LolaLollypop · 26/03/2020 21:53

Following!

Sidge · 26/03/2020 22:11

Ah I didn’t realise this was on, but managed to switch it in at five past nine so got nearly all of it.

I love this series, it’s done so sensitively. Incredible to think they’re 18/19 now.

It resonates with me as I have a disabled 16 year old. She’ll never go to uni but it’s so good to see some of the BTBD young people growing up and managing uni etc.

viques · 26/03/2020 23:03

I love this programme. Such incredible kids, such amazing families.

Fernie6491 · 27/03/2020 08:30

I think they're incredible. I have followed Hamish on his Facebook page for a few years now, always good to see his swimming achievements, and how he's doing.

We love this too. Inspirational families.

ellenanora5 · 27/03/2020 13:00

It was lovely to catch up with them all, and so heartwarming to be able to share all their achievements, very sad to hear about Williams condition and the plans both parents of William and Shelbie have had to put in place Sad

Zoe was on the thread sometime ago when we heard about Shelbie.

I often wonder how Nathan is getting on, I hope he's doing well

I was welling up at Hamish was achieving his dreams, at Zoe going off to university and again when the flashbacks showed Emily in her nurse outfit when she was little and she was wanting to be a nurse, and she's only bloody doing it!
Really tried holding it together throughout Shelbie's segment with her adoring family and lost it seeing William so happy in his flat setting out in life only to find out his health news.
I'm glad I watched it alone as I'm not one for blubbering. Really didn't want to post anything patronising whilst watching but they've been on my mind since watching. Just blown away by all of the kids/young adults now.

Elderflower14 · 02/04/2020 21:12

Now watching... Think I'm going to need tissues...

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2020 21:19

Wish they'd stop repeating their entire life history again.

Krazynights34 · 02/04/2020 21:21

I e just come to this series new.
My daughter has one of the conditions (arthrogryposis) that the amazing young woman at Cambridge has but my daughter is affected completely differently.
It’s incredible to watch these wonderful people!

Toddlerteaplease · 02/04/2020 21:23

William is a legend!
