Apple TV - is it worth it?

I have the option of a free trial for Apple TV with my new iPhone. I think it’s £5 per month after that.

Since it looks like I will be indoors for the foreseeable is it worth it? What is decent to watch on it?

I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Unless it's changed it the last year then there is nothing different on it. It's just a portal for playing Netflix etc on. Someone might be along to correct me though

Also you can stream from your phone which was handy and something I haven't figured out how to do with my new tv

They do have some new content now, but nothing that I’d go out of my way to sign up for yet. I think I’m maxed out on subscriptions tbh.

If it’s free for you then it’s worth it to watch The Morning Show and then cancel when the subscription kicks in

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 20/03/2020 19:59

I've got it free for a year with my phone

I would say its absolutely not worth it YET

Only a handful of shows, maybe 6/7

Of those I've only watched 1 - Truth be Told, which was alright but not amazing.

But they have loads of big names developing things.

I think it will be worth it, but with a lot of productions now shut down, won't have enough content to make it worth paying for until at least 2021

The Morning Show (literally THE best show - same writer as House of Cards, and about #metoo, based on roughly true story of a news anchor being accused of sexual misconduct) and Servant (really creepy domestic horror, very fascinating) are amazing but I wasn't too impressed by See, Truth be Told (although I perhaps should have stuck with it and Dickinson is a travesty. I can understand that with Dickinson they're appealing to teenage audience, but it's just grating. But get the trial and binge what you like - it's just like Amazon Prime, so some content is included with the subscription (not much) and the rest is ppv.

IMO, it's worth it just for 'For all Mankind' - show based on the premise that Russia won the space race.

And Joel Kinnaman.... surely worth it just for him? 😍🤪😍

Servant is. I took the free year and now I’m worried I’ll have to take out a subscription to see more episodes. It’s brilliant

DanglySpider · 26/03/2020 22:22

We're on the last episode of servant now and it is brilliant - still none the bloody wiser as to what is going on but utterly gripped.

Taking it back

Watching Servant

Bloody RIVETING
