So I had a look and I couldn't find a thread for this series (apologies if there is one already and if someone could link me!) so I thought I'd start one.

Who is looking forward to the new series starting tonight at 8bells on BBC2??

Yea I know the quaffle is the biggest ball but that was TOO big

Thermomixes are outrageously expensive. I'd have bought one, though, if I didn't have children who need food and clothes and other things we should really spend money on first.

PotterHead1985 · 02/04/2020 20:55

I'm just broke so I can't justify over a grand on a mixer - even if it does so so so much more than that. The new ones even sous vide!!!

PotterHead1985 · 02/04/2020 20:58

Ross is going home so.

Until tomorrow folks.

How do they sous vide?! The new ones must be a lot bigger?

Fair result, I think.

Wonder why they didn't play coy with the guest judge tomorrow.

Pelleas · 02/04/2020 21:01

I thought the flummery looked much nicer than those choux pastry balls. The big red one was incredibly unappetising to look at.

DS received Hairy McClairy book from his Kiwi cousins when he was young. Great book but I could quote it almost verbatim in the end Grin

Michael O'Hare has lost a lot of weight, I don't know what he's done with his teeth but his hair looked almost normal for once Grin

Shmithecat2 · 03/04/2020 12:39

@GrouchyKiwi
Is it wrong that I'm finding O'Hare attractive this year? He's cleaner looking than normal.

I'm glad someone else said this. Me too Blush

Was watching one man 2 govs last night so had to watch on catch up. Didn't warm to any of the chefs this round. Don't think there has been anything spectacular cooked.

Egghead68 · 03/04/2020 18:31

Michael O’Hare is looking fine .

Good solution to the scoring.

jay55 · 03/04/2020 20:00

Wait what, heroes and villains?

PotterHead1985 · 03/04/2020 20:03

Evening.

Wait. What. I don't remember that being the theme!

OP posts:
jay55 · 03/04/2020 20:05

I don't remember there being a theme of the week at all. I thought it was just kids lit for the whole series.
Baffled.

GrouchyKiwi · 03/04/2020 20:10

One day I'll remember that this starts at 8pm.

jay55 · 03/04/2020 20:11

Grouchy you've not missed much, other than our confusion over the theme.

GrouchyKiwi · 03/04/2020 20:18

At least Amy's looks like an actual pie.

Celeriac is popular this year.

PotterHead1985 · 03/04/2020 20:18

It still doesn't look like what it is.

OP posts:
PotterHead1985 · 03/04/2020 20:18

@GrouchyKiwi yesss

OP posts:
jay55 · 03/04/2020 20:19

I reckon she went on the sick when she realised they had the same dish inspiration.

GrouchyKiwi · 03/04/2020 20:19

The pastry looks beautiful.

PotterHead1985 · 03/04/2020 20:22

Amy shoulda stayed sick. She is not fairing well with the judges.

OP posts:
PotterHead1985 · 03/04/2020 20:26

Roberta has won.

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 03/04/2020 20:27

Yes, has to be Roberta.

Egghead68 · 03/04/2020 20:30

The choux buns looked really amateur.

jay55 · 03/04/2020 20:41

That was the worst round. Even more disappointing than when the judges didn't like the dishes from the nice people.
