Anyone else disappointed? Really felt like that could have been a one off episode drama and not three parts.
Yes @BeansOnToast123 totally agree. It was even less satisfying than gold digger.
I thought there were 3 main problems with it (Spoilers follow)
first, as I'd posted above it was completely unbelievable the mother would sleep with him. He was unattractive, greasy looking and I really couldn't get past his mumbly voice/horrible accent which I personally found repellent. The two actors had no chemistry at all. Even allowing for her feeling flattered, it was still like WTAF is going on here. I just didn't buy it so that tainted the whole thing
second, the ending bit from when they got to the cottage was very odd. It felt very unbalanced - like there were 2 and 3/4 episodes of padding and then the key bit - was very rushed and weird. Why would she have decided it was a good idea to kill him rather than just call the police? It was just implausible that a woman of her age would think she could stab a young fit man and not be overpowered.
third, the whole bit with the priest who we assume was pushed down some stairs by Jed was not properly explored. It was a bit plot point and just tacked on. It was like maybe they'd filmed a load of scenes that related to that and cut them so had to explain what went on.
The ending was very very poor.
At least it was only 3 episodes so wasn't such a waste of time as Gold Digger.
