Anyone planning on watching? I loved Downton so I'm looking forward to this. It might be just the sort of escapist drama featuring posh people in nice frocks that we all need right now!

Not sure if I will watch, but as I have heard it isn't about posh people but the aspiring middle class.

I think the writer is trying to show he isn't just obsessed with the upper class.

I am sure it will be very slick.

jay55 · 15/03/2020 20:41

I'm so ready for some proper escapism. Can't wait.

Liddell · 15/03/2020 20:56

So looking forward to this, I loved the book.

PanicAtTheTesco · 15/03/2020 20:59

this looks like pure shite. I cannot wait Grin.

Davros · 15/03/2020 21:00

Can't wait, lovely drop of pure shite!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/03/2020 21:06

Tamsin Grieg AND Paul Ritter are in this? I'll be expecting her to scold him for taking his shirt off!

Davros · 15/03/2020 21:10

And Gene Hunt

NCTDN · 15/03/2020 21:14

I'm not getting it so far...

Crinkle77 · 15/03/2020 21:14

Why is the duke calling him the magician?

JaneJeffer · 15/03/2020 21:14

I'll watch on +1. Hope it's good!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/03/2020 21:14

The Duke of Wellington was young Sherlock Holmes back in the day!

NCTDN · 15/03/2020 21:17

I want to know that crinkle. What is trecheds job?

missmouse101 · 15/03/2020 21:17

Ooh...Gene Hunt. Fwor!

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/03/2020 21:19

The music is very Downtonesque isn't it? I half expect Carson or Mrs Hughes to appear around the corner!

NCTDN · 15/03/2020 21:19

*Trenchard

Crinkle77 · 15/03/2020 21:20

Yes @NCTDN I feel confused already.

JellyfishandShells · 15/03/2020 21:22

Trench is a civilian supplier of food, arms, horses etc - the vital back up to any military movement.

Crinkle77 · 15/03/2020 21:23

Thanks Jellyfish.

NCTDN · 15/03/2020 21:25

Why magician then?

JellyfishandShells · 15/03/2020 21:26

Because he must be very good at producing what is needed under difficult conditions .

TheSpottedZebra · 15/03/2020 21:27

He's the magician as he can get supplies to the front, I think.

PuppyMonkey · 15/03/2020 21:30

Crikey it’s awful so far.

JellyfishandShells · 15/03/2020 21:32

Quite a glower from Harriet Walter there

jay55 · 15/03/2020 21:32

Bloody hell, half an hour in and we've lost most the cast.

Crinkle77 · 15/03/2020 21:32

Yeah puppymonkey it's certainly no Downton.
