Looking for recommendations for prime, just got the 30 day trial and looking for something to watch. Either box set or movie. I'll watch anything except period dramas.

You've GOT to watch This Is Us. Absolutely brilliant. I only finished watching it a couple of weeks ago and so so wish I'd discovered it a few weeks later than I did now!
The first episode had me gripped. Very very good writing (and bloody amazing makeup department!).

Modern Love
Olive Kitterage
Mrs Maisel

I'm halfway through Tales from the loop, it's new on prime. I am really enjoying it so far.

Puppylucky · 08/04/2020 20:13

Castle Rock on Starz play is excellent!

MbwaKali · 17/04/2020 19:03

This Is Us is amazing!!
But it always makes me cry. Every single episode. I love all of them!!

This is us

Only ONE person said Good Omens! It’s so so good.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen play a demon/ angel starts at the beginning (Adam and eve) and comes to present day when the anti christ is born and don’t want to spoil it so won’t go any further.

It’s funny and the relationship between DT and MS characters is fab!

titsbumfannythelot · 28/04/2020 08:01

Another recommendation for this is us, like @MbwaKali I cry at every episode but still love it.

New Amsterdam is great too and also started outlander at the start of lockdown and enjoying it.

I'm obviously a minority as nobody has mentioned it, but I discovered Chuck and think it's fantastic.

5 series of lighthearted spy/action/romance with humour, excellent characters (and development) and wholesome relationships (sibling/friend/parental as well as romantic). Great plot twists and a lot of heart. Its just great.

needsmorebooks · 28/04/2020 08:25

No one's mentioned Casual, (which I much preferred to This is us!)

BikeRunSki · 28/04/2020 08:28

DH and I are currently watching “The Middle” from the beginning of Season 1, as light relief from the news.

ReignsMummyX · 28/04/2020 08:33

Peppa pigConfused....there's probably other stuff but my 2 year old does not allow that GrinGrin

Big little lies isnt free is it?

RunningNinja79 · 03/05/2020 20:43

So I was trying to find something to watch the other day too. Now I have discovered This is us. Just watched the pilot.

See you on the other side Grin

Tezza1 · 27/05/2020 03:38

Justified

Redglitter · 27/05/2020 03:42

Bones - currently working my way through it just now. Love it

Outlander
Monk
New Amsterdam
Ugly Betty

Tezza1 · 27/05/2020 03:48

Just want to add: it's odd, considering the content of Justified, it doesn't really take itself too seriously. Timothy Olyphant, whom I didn't particularly like in"lDeadwood" - wonderful programme but his character was deliberately super priggish in it - is just wonderful. He even looks good wearing his cowboy hat, and has just the right walk for the character.

Mrs Maisel, even if just for the 1950's clothes - just fabulous. Although I thought the last series was a bit inconsequential.

Blueuggboots · 27/05/2020 04:36

Little fires everywhere has potential!

Taddda · 27/05/2020 04:55

@Blueuggboots

Little fires everywhere has potential!
Agreed! Although the Reese Witherspoon character does seem exactly the same as her in 'big little lies'...?? Still, looks like it's worth a watch, I loved that anyway!

Just binged 'ReLoad'...enjoyed that way more than I thought I would!

Also Starzplay is worth it! I added just for Mr Mercedes then was going to cancel, but discovered Castle Rock, some creepy pasta series that had me hooked, Counterpart....

Dont have a chance to watch anything that's not a cartoon/musical/kid friendly atm so well behind, but occasionally at 4 am when alls settled enjoy a tea and a bit of a binge watch of something else!!!
