Binge watched it last night and LOVED IT.

Anyone else seen it yet? It's basically The End of the F**king World mixed with Stranger Things.

That ending!!!

I love the 80s vibe and now want to go round all the local charity shops to try to recreate the style.

We finished it tonight, really enjoyed it!

I was trying to work out what year it was set in, I thought early 90s?

theneverendinglaundry · 28/02/2020 22:54

I assumed it was present day with a very 80s/early 90s vibe, but I'm not sure why I thought that! Did we see anyone with a mobile phone? I'm sure Sydney and Stan were texting eachother when he recommended that album and she danced to it on her bed? didn't they?

I clicked on this without enthusiasm because I wasn't sure about it. Boy was I wrong. I LOVED it.

I liked the beginning which technically showed you the end but was clearly made to make you wonder, what the hell happened.

Loved Stan. What a lovely boy. So confident in himself and a complete contrast to Syd. Please, please let there be a season 2.

I finished this in one day and loved it. It had an 80's feel to it which had the echo of The Breakfast Club and Carrie. It was very funny at times and with each episode being only about 20 mins - it was very easy to watch. What an ending! Bring on the second series....!

theneverendinglaundry · 29/02/2020 14:07

Yes Stan is such a lovely character.

There has to be a second series!

I loved it too. That ending was so unexpected! There has to be a season 2 and I can't wait!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/02/2020 14:55

Yy yo season 2, I wouldn't be surprised if it came out later this year! I was telling dd about the references to Carrie.

The ending was funny, we knew something was about to happen but wasn't expecting that 🤯🤣

fortyfifty · 29/02/2020 18:03

What makes it a 15? Would I watch this with DDs 17 and 14 as I did Stranger Things or leave them to watch it themselves?

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 29/02/2020 22:58

Forty it's a 15 for some adult themes (suicide, sex etc) language and the last episode is quite erm gruesome.

I watched it with my 14yo dd and we both enjoyed it.

Thank you

Absolutely loved it, and the Carrie vibe at the end. In fact the overall 80s/early 90s vibe was a hit too.

CrowleysBentley · 11/03/2020 05:37

@theneverendinglaundry the graphic novel that it's based on and the End of the f**King world one are by the same guy.

I loved it. Stan is a lovely character, he's adorable, and Syd is great. I really hope there's another series soon.

Not sure about mobile phones but the library camera footage was on a USB stick!
